In total, 59 tropical storms have brought rainfall to Western PA between 1876 to 2020. Ida is the 60th. It's hard to say if more tropical storms remnants are likely in Western PA with climate change based on the data. Although 2000 produced the most, 1890s were pretty rough too.
On average we get 3.86 tropical storms showing up in Western PA per decade. 47.4% of them show up in September. While 18.6% show up in August and 18.6% show up in October. Hope you enjoyed this thread and be safe out there! Turn around, don't drown.

The average rainfall produced from all tropical storms is 1.49 inches with a variance of 1.95 inches. I got roughly 5 inches from Ida in my front yard rain gage, which would place it 3rd in terms of all time tropical storm total rainfall volumes if my rain gage were "official".

Allegheny County #Pittsburgh total rainfall estimates from #Ida. All of this rain started at ~12pm 8/31 and ended by ~12pm 9/1 so these can essentially be thought of as 24 hour totals.
