Thomas and his family attended the Spanish Grand Prix in 2017, eager to watch his favorite driver Kimi Raikkonen.
The only problem?
Kimi crashed out of the race on the opening lap, and TV cameras picked up an upset young fan — Thomas Danel.
2) After being made aware of the situation, Ferrari tracked down Thomas and his family.
They invited them to join Kimi in the paddock, and tears quickly turned to smiles as Thomas was presented with an autographed team hat by his favorite driver.
"It was great!" Thomas said.
3) Thomas and his family stuck around, celebrating Sebastian Vettel's second-place podium finish with Kimi and the Ferrari team.
But that's not even the best part...
4) Fast forward 4 years, and that moment of kindness has clearly had a lasting impression on Thomas.
Thomas is now karting, hoping to pursue the same dream as his childhood hero.
Even better? He wears a custom Kimi Raikkonen suit and the Finnish driver’s iconic number 7.
