Ngl it's very cathartic seeing others who relate 😆
BTW I absolutely love being an introvert and wouldn't have it any other way, but society is definitely built for extroverts so us introverts have to work a lot harder to simply live is all I'm saying 😂

Just to clarify, I'm not referring to gay men when I share this. Some of my besties are fem gay men 💖
For the replies blatantly miscontruing everything and trying to start a fight, I'm not taking that bait and arguing with you about it. You're gonna have to find someone else for that.
I'm perfectly ok with some things not being inclusive. Not everything has to be for everyone. I'm not mad about things that aren't made with me/ my taste in mind. That's ok, because some other things are.
It feels weird to me that this is a hot take. Maybe it's not though 🤷♀️
I don't want this taken out of context, I do like some inclusive things, & in entertainment like gaming I do love to see a variety
But if something is created that isn't my style (eg: too hard/easy, no female characters, etc) I can either see if I like it or play something else
I just feel like a lot of creativity is lost when everything is expected to be inclusive these days. Developers can't even make challenging games without backlash for not making an easy mode, and we see existing franchises completely changed because of it in general
Often times when the original Lara Croft comes up in discussion, people are quick to say that she was created for the "male gaze." I'm making this thread to clear the air on this misunderstanding, which mostly comes from those who didn't play the games tbh 1/?
When Tomb Raider was created, women lead characters were almost non existent. The very idea of making the main protagonist a woman was a risk. At the time, we had Metroid with Samus as the lead, but what made her "safe" was that until the end, the player thought she was a man
With that said, Core Design didn't care about the risk and created a woman lead character anyway. Her proportions were exaggerated, not in an objectified manner, but to see even on blocky PSOne graphics that the main character was a WOMAN and they were PROUD of that
