Today, the Department of Health announced the first confirmed case of the 2019 novel #coronavirus in the Philippines. The patient is 38 years old from China.
The announcement was done today by @SecDuque in a press briefing, after results were received from the confirmatory test done at the reference laboratory in Australia.
WHO is providing technical support to the Department of Health in its response to 2019-nCoV in the country, including laboratory capacity strengthening, logistics support, case management, coordination and information sharing, and risk communication.
