I think China's former President Hu Jintao has always been underestimated.
His "Scientific Outlook on Socialist Development" is the theoretical cornerstone of China's transformation to a modern & strong socialist country. (1/X)
President Hu Jintao first put forward the "scientific outlook on development" in his speech on July 28, 2003. In 2007, at the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, this theory was written into the CPC Constitution. (2/X)
Humanism is at the center of the "scientific outlook on development".
The people-oriented concept is "to take the interests of the people as the starting point and...
... end point of all work, to continuously meet people's multifaceted needs and promote the overall development of people." It includes 4 specific aspects:(3/X)
1- On the basis of economic development, continuously improve the people's material and cultural living standards and health standards.(4/X)
2- Respect and protect human rights, including the political, economic and cultural rights of citizens.(5/X)
3- Continuously improve people's ideological and moral quality, scientific and cultural quality and health quality. (6/X)
4- Create a social environment where people develop equally and give full play to their intelligence. (7/X)
Marx and Engels referred to their ideas as Scientific Socialism in order to distinguish them from utopian ideas, which were not based on material reality.
The anarchists proposed that all hierarchies, bureaucracies and power would vanish on the day after the revolutionary overthrow of capitalism. (8/X)
The reformists proposed that the capitalists could be persuaded to cede their power and property to the masses by democracy, and the logical superiority and humanistic content of socialism.(9/X)
Scientific Socialism was able to answer these theories by a concrete analysis of material conditions and interests.
If there were no hierarchy, no authority and no bureaucracy, the means of organizing modern production and securing the livelihood of the people would disintegrate. (10/X)
The discipline required by the modern division of labor in production contradicts the fundamental premises of anarchist theory.(11/X)
Where reformist socialists won parliamentary majorities, capitalists generally managed to neuter the leadership of these parties and take control of government policy. (12/X)
This is because the capitalists and their state overrule parliamentary majorities by extra-parliamentary means.(13/X)
In capitalist countries, the hierarchy of the state bureaucracy is an instrument designed to maintain the wealth and power of the ruling class.(14/X)
Whenever socialists sought to reform the capitalist system, the ferocious reaction by the capitalist class to any fundamental threat to their wealth and power revealed itself. (15/X)
Scientific Socialism revealed that the bureaucratic chain of command over the state has to be broken or smashed and replaced by organs representing the working class.(16/X)
When Hu said "we will never copy a Western political system", he reaffirmed some of the fundamental tenets of Marxism: socialism is not based on parliamentary democracy, and it is not an instrument for the protection of the wealth and power of the economic elite. (17/X)
This is the real reason why socialism is condemned by Western politicians and journalists.(18/X)
Hu's affirmation of Scientific Socialism seeks to apply this outlook to China's development in modern times. This raises a number of interesting issues in relation to the struggle between socialism and capitalism on the world stage. (19/X)
His speech explained that after the 2008 global crisis, China's economy was "the first in the world to make a turnaround" because...
it took "major countermeasures on the basis of sizing up the overall development in a scientific way" thereby "defusing external economic risks and maintaining steady and robust growth."(20/X)
Hu emphasized the central role of public ownership in China's ability to scientifically overcome the dynamics of the world economic crisis, and he proposed to "invest more in state capital in major industries and... (21/X)
... key fields that comprise the lifeline of the economy" and to "steadily enhance the vitality of the state-owned sector of the economy and its capacity to leverage and influence the economy."(22/X)
It is quite clear from this that a scientific approach to the role of state planning must be designed to ensure that spontaneously regulated, market controlled sectors of the economy remain permanently subordinate to scientific planning.(23/X)
However, as Hu affirms, the state will also "encourage, support and guide the development of the non-public sector."(24/X)
In this way the spontaneous laws of capitalism can be contained and its periodic crises do not negatively impact scientific planning and development.
Indeed, investments by the non-public sector provide vital sources of employment, new technology, organizational skills and finance.(25/X)
In summary, China is making steady progress along the road designed by Hu Jintao.
"Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" is developed from the "Scientific Outlook on Development" theory.(26/X)
Why has China maintained economic and scientific prosperity? Because the CPC has been carrying out continuous self reform and evolution.
This is also the core reason why the CPC has always won the support of we Chinese people.(END)

China’s budget will likely be in or near balance for the first time in roughly four decades, a sign of tight fiscal policy during the year despite a slowing economy, according to a study from the East Asian Institute.
bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
China recovered from the Covid (economic) shock without loosening its fiscal policy. Unlike US/Japan. No big stimulus, no drastic reduction of interest rate, no QE, no money printer going brrrrr.
And China still have the option to do all those in the future. It's like going back to 100% hp with your mana/potions still intact, nothing on cooldown. While US have already exhausted all their mana/potions.

"wow, i never imagined the day where i would be considering China policy as far superior than US. We have been getting weaker and weaker..."
Sometimes the comments under FOX news are much more interesting than the news itself.😅

"I am starting to worry that China is going to eat our lunch. China has restricted teenagers video games to a maximum of 3 hours per week, which means that all those kids will have many hours to learn and improve themselves..."
"... Add to that that people in China have less obesity, hypertension, etc. They are also building a strong military and a sense of patriotism. The US needs to go back to focus on the truth, family values, hard work, excellence and the future of our Country."

Some China propaganda posters I like, 1960s-1970s.
... ...
“Speed Up Agriculture Using Modern Machinery.” 1971.
The biggest change that socialism brings to China was the comprehensive promotion of women's rights. Women can become workers, drivers, pilots and state leaders.
“Produce More Coal and Support the Socialist Construction.” c. 1970.
Industrialization was the main goal set by the PRC from the beginning of its establishment.
“Never Tire of Training to Destroy The Enemy.” 1970.
At the beginning of the founding of the PRC, there was no air force. Nevertheless, the PLA defeated the US military in Korea War.

China has administered more than 945 million vaccine doses, more than a third of the global total... With about 17 million shots injected every day this month, China is on pace to surpass a billion shots in the coming days.
nytimes.com/2021/06/18/wor…
To get its vaccine drive going, China pulled out its playbook for pandemic success: a top-down approach that relies on a mix of high-tech tools and old-fashioned, grass-roots mobilization — with some inducements thrown in.
Compared with the United States, where local officials have sought to boost inoculations by offering lures such as million-dollar lottery prizes and free weed, the incentives in China have been humbler.

“Unidentified Air Conditions” 😎
rt.com/news/525739-ch…
China’s only officially confirmed UFO sighting occurred in 1998, when two military jets intercepted a low-flying object that appeared above an airbase in Cangzhou, Hebei province.
The object was described as a “short-legged mushroom” with beams of light shooting down from its underside. The object was able to quickly accelerate before disappearing from radar, according to a report about the incident published in an official newspaper.
