Being against putting waste plastic in the sea is not environmentalism.
Environmentalists DO NOT WANT there to be an easy way to deal with waste plastic.

But plastic may well be the best substance to use, even in single-use applications.

The greens favourite replacements such as cotton bags use vastly more resources than the equivalent number of single-use bags. Producing and processing (washing) reusable items uses more resources than the equivalent number of single use items. That's why they're cheap.
