Guess whose book "Indian in the Cabinet: Speaking Truth to Power" comes out next week? @Puglaas: 'In that moment, I knew he wanted me to lie.’ Jody Wilson-Raybould recalls a tension-filled meeting with Justin Trudeau. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl… #cdnpoli
Excerpt: "I knew what (Trudeau) was really asking ... In that moment, I knew he wanted me to lie, to attest that what had occurred had not occurred" to "lie to protect a gov't acting badly; a political party: a leader who was not taking responsibility. He must be delusional"
"He told me I had not experienced what I said I did. He used the line that would later become public, that I had 'experienced things differently.'”
"He had a media availability ostensibly on housing later that morning. He mentioned a line they were thinking of using: 'Her presence in Cabinet speaks for itself …' Can you believe it? ... How ridiculous. In my opinion, there is no spin on dishonesty."
"There is no question in my mind that the Prime Minister knew there were attempts to pressure me to avoid a criminal prosecution of SNC-Lavalin, and while those attempts failed, thankfully, they were wrong and he knew it."
"I felt (Trudeau) turning on me even more – I could see it in his face, his eyes, and in his mannerisms – because he wasn’t getting his way."

Good time to recall Trudeau & Co. also denied key information re SNC-Lavalin scandal to the Ethics Commissioner as well. (thread): Wilson-Raybould says Trudeau should let RCMP probe possible obstruction of justice in SNC-Lavalin affair - theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic… #cdnpoli
From the ethics commissioner report that concluded Trudeau had broken the federal Conflict of Interest Act:
'During this examination, nine witnesses informed our Office that they had information they believed to be relevant, but that could not be disclosed ...
'because, according to them, this information would reveal a confidence of the Queen's Privy Council and would fall outside the scope of Order in Council 2019-0105.'

Section 1 says: The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
Section 33, the NWC clause says (see thread)
33. (1) Parliament or the legislature of a province may expressly declare in an Act of Parliament or of the legislature, as the case may be, that the Act or a provision thereof shall operate notwithstanding a provision included in section 2 or sections 7 to 15 of this Charter.
(2) An Act or a provision of an Act in respect of which a declaration made under this section is in effect shall have such operation as it would have but for the provision of this Charter referred to in the declaration.

Sound familiar? Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin's lawyer: "It is clear from documents disclosed today that decision-makers were more concerned about the political optics of (Fortin's) situation than about ensuring a fair process free of political interference." cbc.ca/news/politics/…
"In his notes, Lt.-Gen Wayne Eyre refers to the clerk of the Privy Council as having spoken to Health Minister Patty Hajdu 4 times & "Min H insulating/protect herself." Another note says "Min H … reaction - protect herself" and that she "doesn't want to create a narrative."
Hajdu's office said the minister never spoke directly to Eyre, but didn't deny meeting with the Privy Council clerk. When asked what "narrative" she didn't want to create, her office said she wanted to be transparent about why Fortin was leaving his role in vaccine rollout.

Liberals whining about Harper criticizing Trudeau are hilarious and, as usual, total hypocrites:

If you're planning a cruise: 'Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises & Carnival exclude those who have received mixed COVID-19 vaccinations, noting AstraZeneca + another vaccine now considered unvaccinated and unable to sail.' cruisecritic.com/news/6302/ #cdnpoli
Some cruise lines accept mixing of mRNA vaccines Pfizer and Moderna as fully vaccinated. Also, the policy may depend on your point of embarcation so best to check with the company's policy before planning a cruise to avoid disappointment.
The move has left many Canadians and Brits who received mixed doses alongside AstraZeneca upon the recommendations of their home countries wondering what will happen to their cruises.

Be very suspicious of these sorts of claims:
(1) While Ottawa is responsible for 1,050 Indigenous water systems across Canada, one-third of all households on reserves aren’t included, because they have no running water or get it from private wells and cisterns.
(2) Many of the cancelled long-term unsafe drinking water advisories have been achieved through temporary measures, which may not last until permanent solutions are in place.
(3) There’s been no improvement in the number of reserve water systems that are at medium or high risk of failure since the Liberals took power. In 2015, 43% of 699 systems were at medium or high risk. As of 2019, 43% of 718.
