Just to be clear, "The System" in this case is a hospital maternity ward performing the highest good pro-life conservatives claim to care about: the delivery of babies. But, hey, that's not nearly as important as #resistance shitposting in solidarity with antivax hospital staff.
Just imagine being Jesse Kelly. All of a sudden you're a 50 year old megadouche spending all day issuing apocalyptic warnings about—brace yourself now—hospitals requiring staffers to vaccinate.
THE SYSTEM is all around you, Neo. It's in the hospitals saying, 'Hey, might be good if our frontline medical workers are vaccinated against the virus responsible for shutting down the planet for going on two years now.' Do you feel it, Neo? I am unbelievably smart, Neo.

Matrix 4 features Bill and Ted racing back in time to destroy the original Matrix script so that "red pill" never enters the IDW lexicon.
This appears literally within seconds of a YouTube introduction to Mencius Moldbug lmao these people love this concept so much
Right, it's the promise of an awakening from illusion or conformity or some such oppressive state. The interesting thing is seeing which community latches onto which term, and why.

Instead of cultivating a revulsion to the ongoing memorialization of a cause that rapaciously subjugated and brutally plundered an entire race, Reaboi’s rage is provoked by the audacity of newer Americans to loudly denounce the preservation of Confederate symbols. Grotesque.
Twitter is a place where far-right culture warriors expose their moral backwardness every single day. I’m not referring to the takes they offer; I’m referring to the manifestly broken and disordered moral framework that leads them to their takes in the first place.
Moral education is partly about forming the right sensitivities for moral evaluation. If we develop an insensitivity to genuine wrongness but find ourselves raging against what is actually good, that's not simply a problem; it's indicative of a completely disordered perspective.

Messi has a better international record than Ronaldo. Both are transcendent players and have been excellent for their countries, but Messi’s record is objectively better, despite the insane narrative that suggests otherwise.
Ronaldo won the Euros (though he missed most of the final game), while Messi won a Copa America, got to three other Copa America final matches, and made it to a World Cup final match, which is astonishingly good.
Ronaldo just became the top international scorer. But European qualifiers are filled with cupcakes like San Marino and Luxembourg. Messi, on the other hand, exclusively plays good teams in Argentina’s WC qualifiers. There are no weak South American teams.

What a stupid culture newsweek.com/comedy-central…
I have zero interest in parsing the term “cancel culture,” or even in considering whether a “cancel culture” frame works here. My only interest is in pointing out that removing this episode, an episode I’m very familiar with, is weak and embarrassing.
What I find disheartening is the amount of people who for culture war reasons—that is, in order for conservative outrage mongers not to get a W—find themselves playing down how artistically subversive it is for a pop culture ecosystem to see content get shelved over offensiveness

Children with Down syndrome have exactly the same moral worth as any other child.

And, fortunately for Hanania, even people who promote eugenicist talking points on Twitter have the same moral worth as anyone else. Image
Actually, those parents and Hanania are saying different things. I am anti-abortion, and I think opting to abort *because* of Down syndrome is seriously wrong, but I don’t treat a person making a choice *for themselves* as necessarily reflecting what they think *others* should do
In other words, someone can decide to abort a DS child while maintaining that it’s good that others do not want to do so, which is different than appealing to eugenicist reasoning (as Hanania is) as a way of problematizing anti-abortion laws.
