Probably a result of narcissistically/sociopathically living in the "eternal, immortal now" where it's all about winning the next 5 minutes, even at the expense of long-term objectives...And also b/c they plan on fixing elections so it doesn't matter how many voters they lose
Yes, fighting the temptation to name call (or "own the Cons"), rather than articulate the behavior is important. Calling them "Covidiots" is an indulgent lack of emotional discipline/maturity.

Millions of adult children who possess an abnormal level of emotional immaturity (emotional arrested development)....who refuse to "conform" b/c "you're not the boss of me".....have been exploited/manipulated by demagogues to become foot soldiers in an authoritarian movement. 1/
...& school board meetings: This guy stated he and 20 "strong men" would use "mob justice" to remove a democratically-elected school board & "install" unelected, ideologically-aligned "parents".
