There’s lots of potential reasons. But here’s some possibilities.
🧵 thread...
Sometimes there’s just no audience for your content pieces.
Maybe you niched down too much, but more likely you didn’t niche down enough. (“For everyone” means it’s not for anyone.)
If there’s an audience for the content, maybe it’s just not focused on a topic they care about.
If there’s an audience for the content, and it’s on a topic they care about, maybe it’s not in the format that they most like to consume.
ie. You’re making a podcast and they just aren’t into audio content.
If there’s an audience for the content, it’s on a topic they care about and a format they like, maybe it’s just not differentiated enough to stand out against all the other content you’re competing against.
If there’s an audience for the content, it’s on a topic they care about, in a format they like, and it’s differentiated, maybe you just haven’t distributed it enough.
If there’s an audience for the content, it’s on a topic they care about, in a format they like, it’s differentiated, and you distributed it well, but it’s STILL not performing?
You may just be expecting results too soon.
It takes time to establish an audience.
TV shows typically have a much bigger audience on their third season than its first.
Podcasts typically get more downloads on their 50th or 100th episode than their 1st.
So if you feel like you’re doing everything right and still not seeing results, keep going.
Greatness doesn’t happen overnight.
