In 2019, at Boris Johnson’s first Conservative Party Conference as PM, he told delegates of his core principles and ideals, saying his mother taught him to believe in “the equal importance, the equal dignity, the equal worth of every human being”
🖌️It was as a portrait painter that she made her name.

Telling @Telegraph in 2015: “My older sister was terribly clever, as was my younger brother. My parents didn’t know what to do with me so they gave me some paints and I turned out to be good at it”
Describing the challenge of bringing up four young children, she said: "They were quite a handful but I loved them tremendously. I taught them very odd things that I wanted to know, like how to draw a squirrel. It was such fun"
At the age of 40, she had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

She told @Telegraph in 2008: "I have to go to the hospital a lot.

"I still manage to paint, though my arm will suddenly do a movement which is completely unintentional and that almost brings me to tears"
The only time she is known to have asked her son to use his influence was when he was mayor, and asked him to make sure buses did not move until everyone was sitting down, because “if you’re disabled, often you fall”.
