Since I'm a buddhist practioner, I'd like to share with you some of the techniques my masters have taught me, and that I've personally used, to overcome difficult moments with a stronger and wiser mind:
Thread 👇
1. If you’re feeling anxious, sad or stressed, stop for a moment and focus your attention in the part of your body where you are feeling the tension. Then take 21 deep breaths, inhaling directly to that part of your body and exhaling from that exact point. This is magic!🔥
2. Emotions are just sensations in our bodies until we tie them to a story in our heads. If we can maintain the emotion just as that, a physical sensation, and not get engaged with all the reasons and narratives our mind gives us to confirm that emotion and making it a story...
it must go away soon. It is all about the way we handle our thoughts. Meditate on this.
In moments of loss (it may be a person we love, a job or a fundamental belief): 3. Meditate on impermanence. Bad things, just as the good things, are temporary. EVEN WE ARE. Meditate on death and how it makes life even more precious. Embrace every moment, the good and the bad.
4. If you feel you can't deal with an specific emotion, DO NOT FIGHT IT, it’ll make it stronger. Instead seat with it, be with you as if you were you’re best friend or your own mother, and do not judge...
Just seat there letting the emotion be, accompanying you and talking to yourself with love and compassion saying ‘this too shall pass, I got you’. Act with yourself just as you are with your best friend o your beloved one.
5. Everytime you catch your mind going to the past or future, stop! Bring yourself to the present moment, focus your attention in any object you have near and breath. Feel your body, feel the air on your skin, listen carefully to all the noises around you. Be completely there.
6. Remember that EVERYTHING IS ENERGY. Knowing this you can be completely sure that you can change any situation. Those days in which you wake up feeling depressed, anxious or that you don’t want to get up from bed, do this:
Just jump out of your bed and star jumping or tapping your whole body, or moving your arms like crazy upside down. Put some power music on and dance absurdly. Go running or biking or just jump the rope. You can transform energy just by moving it! #Lifehack
