Once again, the @latimes is pushing these theories, like other rags across the country.
What most people don’t know is that at the polls, we got more questions asked about write in candidates because no one knew who Larry Elder was. #FunFactsByAPollWorker
You know how hard it is for white MAGA’s to look someone in the eye and tell them they want to vote for a black man? Really hard.
#1 question we got was who were the write in candidates they could vote for. We provided them the approved list. #FunFactFromAPollWorker
White MAGA’s, even Latinos who identify as Republican came out to vote against Newsom,
The #2 question we were asked?
Will my vote count if I don’t vote for someone on the approved list of candidates?
Answer: Yes, your vote will still count #FunFactFromAPollWorker
#3 Question asked before voting?
Are your machines Dominion?
#4 Q
Are your machines connected to the internet?
#5 Q
Why am I required to used a Sharpie?
#6 Q
Where are your routers?
#7 Q
Will I get a printout of my vote with a time stamp?
Me as Postal Inspector
After responding politely to every question, with a smile and a “Thank you for voting” and “we’re here to help”.
At the end of the day our job was to answer Q’s, provide facts and help them vote.
Their choices of news sources, network of people in their lives
and how they approach their lives and their children, are their choices. It is clear that who they watch or listen to have had a profound effect on their opinions. Talking points from these institutions/people were heard.
It was astounding and so sad.
Job is done. #WeWonInCA

The one story not told about the Recall Election in CA was that it was so tough to find volunteers who could help.
I did, and we had to work hard to find more to help us. 1/ THREAD
Part of the problem was rising cases in Shasta County of COVID and those individuals who were unvaccinated. We are a GOP stronghold, MAGA here, so there are a lot. I was concerned and so was my husband, but he knew I would wear a mask and be careful.
2.
As the Poll Inspector, I was in charge of making sure everyone else was doing the right thing as well. Masks were requested, but not mandated. Out of the 200 plus people who came in to cast or drop off a vote….probably 30% were masked.
That put an additional strain on us.

Instead of a long thread, I’ll just make a comment about a convo today with a friend at the golf course.
We caught up, chatted about politics in general and she told me her worries about the CA Recall election being full of fraud.
1/
I listened, then told her I was a Poll Inspector getting ready to go set up my precinct after leaving the course. She asked me the following: 1. Are voting machines really connected to the Internet?
A. NO
2/
2. How can I be sure fraud isn’t happening?
A. There are so many verifications and 2 person auditing at the precinct level first, then to the elections office, then to the State level, everything has a paper trail and verification by numerous people.

Charges were dropped in April. Schiller, Newsom’s brother-in-law is the SON of the co-founder of Boies Schiller Flexner. If there is domestic violence happening, Melissa Siebel should seek help.
WELP, it was bound to happen and it did.
THREAD
Today, the stats for Shasta County are as follows: 1/
The largest variant detected in our county is the Delta Variant now.
Additional updates show that with are in a HIGH RED transmission area.
We have - 16,227 total cases, 234 total deaths, 131 new cases which is consistent here. 3/
So, to my point.
My husband was notified on Sunday evening that he had to get tested for COVID. Evidently, someone who was vaccinated, tested positive in the office along with 10 others. A total of 14 are being quarantined until they test negative.

THREAD on the RECALL election in CA and comparisons to the RECALL election of Gray Davis in 2003. It’s important for context because of the media coverage that feels very negative for Newsom
THREAD
1/
Gray Davis, for those that remember, was Governor of CA from 1999-2003 and had a successful career in CA as a solid public servant. He won his election to governor with 57.9% of the total vote and the GOP candidate (Dan Lungren) received 34.8%.
Gray ran as a centrist Democrat.
2
Gray focused on schools and education which, at the time, was a big topic in CA (among other things). Gray was recalled with just 2 months left in his term of office.
And as y’all know, Schwarzenegger won the recall election with just ~960K votes more
3/
As many of you know (or maybe not) I’m a poll worker for CA elections of all kinds.
Last year I worked the Federal Election/State too., and this year the RECALL election.
Here’s some updates for those that want to know….

For whatever reason, Twitter isn’t allowing this thread for me to send.
So I’ll do it this way
