At 23 I graduated from University with a degree in Accounting. I had a clue about what I wanted to do with my life, but nothing was certain. I wasn’t confused but I didn’t have any serious plans, strategy, or answers for the future. 2 years later at 25, things were much clearer.
Looking back and reflecting, I wish I knew several things when I started my career 13 years ago. For starters, I wish I knew that it was okay to fail.

If I had known and internalised this, I would have taken more risks, and perhaps would have succeeded.
Also, I wish I knew how to negotiate and get a lot more things done on my own terms. This might sound counter-intuitive because a newbie doesn’t have so much leverage, but knowing yourself, your worth and what you can achieve will make you negotiate better.
Lastly, I wish I doubted myself less. I had a lot of very brilliant ideas that I never pursued or suggested to the companies I have worked with because I doubted myself. Self-doubt is a killer, and I realised that much later in my career.
So, to y’all my younger friends, it is okay to fail. Learn how to negotiate and stop doubting yourself! Get the knowledge you need to make the right moves in your career.

Again, the United Arab Emirates understand they have to allow the sale of alcohol, cigarettes, sex toy shops etc to attract western tourists.

They earn BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in revenue yearly.

Some of you know nothing than religion and want to remain in abject poverty. SMH 🤦🏾‍♂️
Religion as practiced in Nigeria is mainly used to subjugate the poor and promote political interests.

Open your eyes and enjoy and life. Rich people are having fun.

You are the only one tying morality around your neck and carrying religion on your head with osuka. Wake up.
Do you want to become a rich and peaceful state or you want to remain in abject poverty and eat religion? Guess what, that religion cannot even feed you. I hope you open your eyes and brain. Examples are not even far off. Look at what religion has done to some states. Think.

In 2019, I invested in a property that has now appreciated by almost £40,000 (N26M) in just 2 years. Currently, I am in talks with a very good friend of mine about buying another rental property (a flat) worth £175,000 in an area populated by students.
For upwardly mobile professionals, real estate is generally a great investment option. It can help generate passive income on a yearly basis. It can also be a fantastic long-term investment if you buy in a great location and the value increases overtime like mine has done.
Investing in real estate can help you build wealth. You can make profit through rental income (people will always need a place to live) and appreciation of the value of the property.

Thread on negotiating your salary for your first job, a new role, or a promotion. Please follow this. And share.
A study by Linda Babcock found that only about 7% of women attempted to negotiate their first salary, while 57% of men did. And for those who negotiated, they were able to increase their salary by at least 7%. This thread should help you prepare for negotiation.
KNOW HOW MUCH YOU ARE WORTH: Before having a discussion per salary negotiation, you need to work out your value in the industry. Your value will be dependent on factors such as your skills, capabilities, competencies, qualifications, and years of experience in the industry.
