For some reason I made "Now That's What I Call Music" playlists of the big hits and standards from the distant past. If you voted for Warren G. Harding you were listening to these songs open.spotify.com/playlist/6eTk9…
Because I am a millennial and therefore have undiagnosed OCD, I actually went back to check when the songs charted, so all the lists are in that chronological order.

Anyway, the project was inspired by "How the Beatles Destroyed Rock 'n' Roll" by @ElijahWald, which made me think a lot about what popular music endures and gets celebrated, and what gets forgotten. nytimes.com/2009/07/12/boo…

We'll need precinct results in Napa to find out how Newsom did around the French Laundry, but every indication is a landslide "no" vote.
The recall got absolutely bodied in LA. You could drive for two hours and not hit a "yes" precinct, especially if you avoid Beverly Hills. Image

Dems laying it on thick here, confident that come Wednesday they're going to have a new "we beat the recall with covid messaging" story to tell. Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia: "We're going to have our governor's back, and we're going to have our president's back."
Every statewide elected Dem is at this rally, except Sen. Dianne Feinstein - whose age became an issue in the campaign, with Elder saying she had "a worse mental condition than even Joe Biden" and he would appoint a Republican if he got to replace her.
Newsom doing something that clearly irritates Elder: Talking about diversity though he’s is a white guy and Elder is not. “Pluralism is on the ballot. Diversity is on the ballot. Racial justice is on the ballot.”
