Dems laying it on thick here, confident that come Wednesday they're going to have a new "we beat the recall with covid messaging" story to tell. Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia: "We're going to have our governor's back, and we're going to have our president's back."

Every statewide elected Dem is at this rally, except Sen. Dianne Feinstein - whose age became an issue in the campaign, with Elder saying she had "a worse mental condition than even Joe Biden" and he would appoint a Republican if he got to replace her.

Newsom doing something that clearly irritates Elder: Talking about diversity though he’s is a white guy and Elder is not. “Pluralism is on the ballot. Diversity is on the ballot. Racial justice is on the ballot.”

Biden, after hitting diversity theme, goes to covid: "Right now, there are certain Republican governors, like governor of Mississippi, talking about me being dictatorial... for these Republican governors, it isn't about public health, it's about politics."

"Send a message to the nation. Courage matters. Leadership matters. Science matters. Vote to keep Gavin."

Biden whacks Texas abortion law, in which "complete strangers become bounty hunters." Beating recall will "protect California from another Trump climate denier."

"If you work 40 hours a week, you shouldn't live in poverty! That's why I came out for a $15 minimum wage, and California is leading the way."

"On behalf of the people of Delaware... all over this nation, don't take anything for granted."

Closing music: "Stop! In the Name of Love," which is pretty cute as recall music goes. (Elder walks off to "A Little Less Conversation.")

Correction: Secretary of State Shirley Weber also isn't here, but the rest of the statewide electeds were. (Weber's role managing elections has mostly kept her out of the fray.)
