This has been on my mind a lot. My partner showed me this really elegant way to explain vaccinations, COIVD, how it works, and what's going on using a forest fire as an analogy. All credit goes to her for showing me and the original author of the metaphor. Just running with it.1/

So we're having a forest fire — that's COVID right now. It's running out of control so we dampen the woods, get them good and soaked— that's the vaccines. Now the dry wood goes up like matchsticks the moment the wildfire touches it — that's the unvaccinated.2/

If you have too much of the forest that is dry, it starts to burn the wood that you already soaked.3/

Sure, sometimes the wet wood can get a singed from the fire too. That can happen. It can happen especially badly to more vulnerable trees and to younger ones you can't soak down. It can burn those right down if you're not careful.4/

No fire prevention method is 100% especially when the fire burns super hot — that's the Delta variant — and you have to make sure you have enough of the forest soaked down to make sure you protect the vulnerable and really young trees.5/

See it's a lot harder for burning embers on wet wood to set a lot of other wet wood on fire — that's a vaccine passport. Get enough dry wood burning and the whole forest, no matter how wet you get it, will get a little burned — that's what's happening now.6/

So we're cordoning off the forest. We set a fire break and hope it holds. Unfortunately we have a coward as a fire warden, and he's making the trees set the fire break themselves.7/

That sounds dumb right? Making the trees do this themselves when it's literally his job to protect them.8/

So that's where we're at. The fire warden, so concerned with the opinion of the trees that refuse to accept the forest is on fire or that want to get burned for some reason, that he's making the trees that don't want to be burned to ash protect themselves.9/ #ResignKenney

I'm writing this on here partially so when we come out the other side of this, I can reflect on this, how dumb all of this was, how preventable, and just how much of a coward Jason Kenney and the entire UCP are.10/ #ResignShandro

How culpable they are in so many preventable deaths. How they did all of this to us for a rodeo. How they did this to all of us for a small minority of people too stupid to want to put water on a burning fire.11/ #COVID19AB
