The first Indyref was a period of hope and astounding levels of political engagement, and obviously the following day crushing disappointment. Yesterday was the 7th anniversary of the referendum, many Independence Campaigners took part in the @believeinscot day of Action…
Many Politicians on both sides of the debate commented to mark the Anniversary, those on the Indy side led by @NicolaSturgeon generally lamented the loss, but vowed to keep the hope alive…
As you can imagine certain members of the @ScotTories Branch Office approached this anniversary with their customary lack of grace. None more so that agitator in Chief Murdo Fraser MSP with this typical (and totally lacking in self-awareness) contribution….
We find it inexplicable that any responsible adult, let alone a “Senior Politician” would choose to tweet about Division, Worry and Scars that have still not healed on the same day that this happens….
Marching Season is a festering wound on civilised society, just when we all think it has scabbed over around it comes…

The scab gets picked off again…

And this bigoted pus comes oozing out onto the streets of Glasgow…

Every year for over 200 years!
Of course Murdo Fraser doesn’t seem to mind THIS division, THESE unhealed scars, as long as it’s annual and regular division and unhealed scars, thinly disguised as a celebration of culture when it is in fact Anti-Catholic, Anti-Irish bigotry…

Why is that we wonder?...
To Murdo Fraser we would say this, some of us have Unionists among our friends and families, we still love them, we’re still friends with them, because we’re generally adults…

A personal relationship that would end over Politics…

Would probably have ended over Fitba’…
Would have probably ended over religion….
Would have probably ended over whichever was the next vacuous celebrity wannabe was just booted off of Love Island!
When a Friendship or Relationship can’t survive such a thing it always says more about that Friendship or Relationship than the Sporting, Religious, Cultural or indeed the Political climate it exists in….
We suspect that Murdo Fraser MSP’s intervention is another chance to revel in the disappointment on the Indy Movement in 2014, he seems find a reason to exercise it every year.

Just like his chums in the Orange Orders revel in the historic defeat of Catholics annually....
The historical genesis and constitutional raison d’etre” of the various groups of “Orangemen” lies in a vigorous celebration of historic triumph in battle over Roman Catholics and opposition to their faith.
The historical genesis of Murdo Fraser’s annual gloating lies in celebration of the (temporary) triumph over Independence Supporters and their cause.

In either case there’s no point pretending otherwise….
We suspect that what really rankles Murdo Fraser though...

What really gets under his skin...

What keeps him awake at night...

Is that defeat in Indyref 1 should have been the death of the SNP and the Indy Movement…
But as Murdo and his chums well know it was rather counter-intuitively the making of us…

Just like Ob-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, "strike us down and we have become more powerful than he could've possibly imagined"...
We look forward to a future as a Small, Successful, Fair, Inclusive, Tolerant, European, Independent Country. A future where these “annual celebrations” are consigned to history, along with their Cheerleader Murdo Fraser Ex MSP…

Until that day, the campaign continues...

We all want ready access to services.

We all also want MSP’s who know what’s reserved and what’s devolved!

Everyone meet Douglas Lumsden MSP, former leader of Aberdeen City Council and List MSP for the North East Region since May the 7th.

eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/…
Now Douglas is quite rightly concerned about Post Office branches closing, lack of access to cash etc.
And he quite rightly drew attention to it by raising it in Parliament and posing for a wee photo outside a local post office with a concerned look slapped all over his coupon.
But Douglas Lumsden would have done well to do a bit of research first…

Banking regulation, which led to the closure of bank branches in the first place is of course a reserved matter where he’d be better raising this with the UK Gov’t.

It’s been a struggle to find a Brexit Benefit, we were promised loads of them but they have thus far failed to materialise.

That is until today, as some of you may be aware before we became integrated with Europe we used to have the “Imperial System” for weights and measures.
Now from my standpoint the Imperial System was a bit confusing…

Money was counted in multiples of 6 and 12
Weight was counted in multiples of 7 and 14
Length was counted in multiples of 8 and 16
But when we integrated with Europe we (almost) adopted the Metric system. Now it doesn’t matter what you are counting, weighing or measuring using the Metric system it was all done in multiples of 10.

Would you really like to Take Back Control?

Many people who voted for Brexit in 2016 and who voted Tory in 2019 did so from a desire to "Take Back Control" of our Laws, our Money and our Borders!... 1/10
If you did vote that way, with…Northern Ireland kicking off again? Restaurants and Shops experiencing shortages? Livestock being killed but not slaughtered as they have gone unsold? Is this what you had in mind?... 2/10
Did you want to "Take Back Control" of our Laws so that Boris and Co. could suppress democracy by illegally proroguing Parliament, or with their Voter ID plans?... 3/10

Who, doesn't enjoy a Cheeky Nandos? those Peri Peri Salted Fries and nice spicy Chicken, what's not to like?

Well it seems that things are a bit tough for Nando's at the moment...
Restaurants all over England, Scotland and Wales are suffering shortages of supplies and they have had to close about 50 premises.

Prompting this tweet from Nando's HQ...
But hang on, if Twitter has limited characters why didn't Nando's just type "UK" instead?

Well that's because there is one area of the UK not suffering from a lack of reasonably priced spicy chicken and fries. Northern Ireland is still has easily accessible Cheeky Nando's...

One could be forgiven for thinking this Photograph is one of Boris Johnson, taking a moment out of his busy day running the UK and being updated on global events, for a Poignant moment of reflection on the senseless Incel killings in Plymouth last week....
One could be doubly forgiven for thinking that was the case if you saw this image in this tweet from the UK Prime Ministers Official Twitter account...
But as is usual with @BorisJohnson this photo may not be entirely.... well... honest...

Take a closer look at the clock on the wall and you'll see that the clock duly says it's 11am, and if you're observing a moment of silence that's when it is done....

Good show Boris!...

No nation was ever going to be immune to the Covid-19 Pandemic... from Communist to Capitalist… From Large Nations to Small…. From Rich Nations to Poor… because Viruses are indiscriminate.
But many nations had the opportunity to reduce the impact of the Virus, as it swept across the globe at a terrifying pace, passing through borders, ravaging populations and overloading health services.
The UK was ideally placed to protect her citizens from Covid-19. As an island nation we had a geographic advantage, and as a nation with a well-developed, publicly owned and freely available health service we should have felt relatively safe as the virus swept towards us.
