The series of incidents which led to Shukracharya forbidding the use of liquor for Brahmins is very interesting. Devguru Brihaspati sent his son Kacha at behest of Devtas for learning Mrita Sanjeevani Vidya through which Daityaguru used to resurrect the slain Asuras.
Kacha was obedient to his Guru and did not straightaway ask Guru to teach it. He became Shukracharya's just another disciple, and was very hard working. He did not leave any opportunity to serve his Guru.

Shukracharya's daughter was Devayani, and he loved is daughter very much.
However, Devtas had sent Kacha, eldest Son of Brihaspati, with a plan. He was tasked with duty of impressing Devyani so that she could compel his father to disclose Sanjivani Vidya to him. Kacha began his apprenticeship in Daityaguru's Ashram. He was very dedicated Shishya.
While serving and accomplishing every task given by Shukracharya, Kacha left no chance to impress Devayani, he danced, played musical instruments and even praised her beauty. However, he never crossed limits and remained a celibate student of his Guru.
With time, Devayani started loving Kacha dearly.

Daityas had no problem with this relationship, as long as they didn't knew that Kacha was the son of Brihaspati, the Guru of their arch rivals Devtas. Once they came to know it, they were infuriated & hatched a conspiracy.
Once Kacha went into deep forests, they (Asuras) hit him from behind, ch0pped him into pieces and fed pieces to wild animals.

When Kacha didn't return to Ashram by sunset, the heart of Devayani sank in sorrow as she suspected foul play. She approached her father to convey it.
She said to her father that it was Kacha's duty to ignite Agnihotra and in all these years, he had not failed even once to do it. If it was not done, it implied he wasn't alive and asked him to bring him to life back by Sanjivani. Shukracharya didn't disagree with her.
Shukracharya knew Sanjivani would've no impact if Kacha was alive. He invoked Sanjivani and after sometime, they sighted Kacha who walked into the Ashram.

He said all he remembered a hit on his head, and then he woke up with many dead bodies of wild animals around him.
Shukracharya thought Kacha was killed by wild animals and was digested by the time Sanjivani was invoked. It's why his digested remains came out tearing their bellies.

Happiness of Asuras vanished when they learnt their Guru had brought Kacha back to life. They planned again.
This time their plan was almost foolproof and they waited for a chance.

Once Devayani sent Kacha to fetch a flower that she liked. In deep forest, Asuras again murdered Kacha. And this time, they chopped pieces but didn't feed them to wild animals or dispose them.
They burnt every bit of every piece of Kacha's body, reduced it to ashes and mixed it with wine (Soma) which their Guru used to have on limited occasions. They came back Ashram and on some pretext, offered it to Shukracharya who drank it joyously without realizing the truth.
When Kacha didn't return, Devayani again became concerned and approached her father. This time Shukracharya mediated to know what had transpired in forest. He sadly told everything to his daughter who said she would also not live a day if Kacha was dead.
Seeing his dear daughter sad, Shukracharya decided to bring Kacha back to life by Sanjivani. He invoked it and parts of Kacha came back to life. But he soon realized where he was.

He said to his Guru that he was inside his belly. Shukracharya was agahst upon listening to it.
He further meditated to check events that had transpired.

Kacha told his Guru that if he continued with Sanjivani process any further, he would come out tearing apart his belly leaving his Guru dead.

Shukracharya became clueless upon listening to this and told this to Devayani.
Shukracharya told Devayani that Kacha could come back to life only at the cost of her father's death. This was too heavy a price for Devayani to agree upon. She couldn't afford to lose father for a person she truly loved.

Shukracharya sensed her confusion and sensed a plan.
Daityaguru told Kacha that it was time to teach him Sanjivani. He added the he would bring his student to life and once he was back alive, he would resurrect his Guru from dead by same Vidya.

Kacha was elated at wisdom & love of his Guru and as he was going to learn it, finally.
Shukracharya summoned Mrit Sanjivani Vidya and his student came out tearing apart his belly leaving him dead. Kacha then calmly did the same and brought back his Guru to life from dead.

Shukracharya was extremely pleased at dedication of his Shishya. Devayani was very happy.
As Kacha went inside his Guru's belly, he came to know about his every secret. He knew Kacha had come with a purpose.

Shukracharya realized Kacha was his rival's son but still how beautifully he stuck to Dharma and obeyed every direction of his Guru, became very happy with him.
But Shukracharya felt ashamed at his weakness for due to this, his own followers could successfully committ drsecrating their own Guru's body by feeding a dead corpse to him. So he decided to fix it, not only for himself but for all Brahmins and lay down a standard of Dharma.
He forthwith put an eternal ban on consumption of wine/liquor by all Brahmins, in all Lokas and in all periods (Yugas). He said any Brahmin who drank wine will be deemed to have committed a crime equivalent to killing a fellow Brahmin, & shall be hated by all. @BharadwajSpeaks
He also summoned Asuras to punish but left them alive not before shaming them by disclosing he had revealed the secret of Sanjivani to Brihaspati's son. Their crime of murdering Kacha had resulted in the very act (of Kacha learning Sanjivani) which they wanted to thwart.
These incidents reveal a lesser known but a unique bond between Guru and Shishya in our civilization where a person accepts his arch rival's son as his student and he later brought his Guru to life.

Now you know why was wine banned for Brahmins.

But what happened to the relationship of Kacha and Devayani? Please try to find it out yourself. Devayani played a very important role in some other lives later on and a celestial body has been given this name.

Our scriptures are interesting, and endless. Keep studying them.
So, this is the reason many Brahmins don't consume wine/liquor and @BharadwajSpeaks too follows it. However, my personal point of view is that anyone under a duty to teach and guide is a Brahmin by Karma and falls in ambit of this forbiddance and must not have wine as weakness.

Many people get sudden power - signs of a strong 8th house. More than outer view, the D-8 chart of such people shows possibility of "sudden events" and an analysis thereof will clear quality of event. A Weak D-8 doesn't give power to endure sudden events, and even stops them.
This D-8 is not weak, however, not extremely good for native. Sudden death of father is reflected by aspect of a strong Saturn on 9th L that is posited in 10th H. Entry into politics is permitted by the same factor but success therein is blocked by 11th L in 12 H.
This is D-8 of Sh. Rahul Gandhi. Mutual exchange of Asc Lord and 9th L makes it strong.

You can cross-check how D-8 charts of both siblings reflect sudden trouble for father. Check combined aspect of Saturn & Mars on 4th H (8th H for father).

7 kinds of dreams:

1. Drushya: Dreams of things which we have seen during daytime.
2. Shruta: Dreams about things which we have heard of earlier.
3. Anubhuta: Dreams about things which have been previously experienced by us.
4. Prarthitha: Dreams about things desired by us.
2/2

5. Kalpita: Dreams about things imagined by us in conscious state.
6. Bhavik: Dreams about things not heard of, imagined or seen earlier.
7. Doshaja: Dreams about disease by a bilious or phlegamtic defects.

The first 5 types generally do not have any real impact.
Such dreams fall under the sixth category and have real life impact (if the native does not forget it after waking up).

Those who follow me from long time, kindly read this in full. This is a thread for condolence.

I recently created a Telegram group and 1,400+ people became its part. Astrologers could help people posting their problems in the group. People discussed privately with them.
2/5

One such astrologer who started helping in the group was Shri Venugopal Kaushik (sorry, I could not ask his Twitter handle). He did not ask a penny in return and helped as many people as he could. People benefitted from his advice and reading. He was very humble.
3/5

In group, we learnt that he was practicing Jyotish from three decades. He had promised his Guru that he would not ask money from anyone. If people offered him Dakshina, he asked them to donate elsewhere.

He became the most active and popular member of the group in no time.

Vedic Jyotish is not only about astrology but about astronomical observations+calculations too. In this thread, we will learn about a twin star system, Arundhati Vashishtha, which is different from many others in sky, that was observed by our Rishis millennia ago.

Contd...
In twin star systems, one star is stationary and the other one rotates around it. However, the Arundhati-Vashishtha system is idiosyncratic in the sense that both stars are in synchrony. That is, both move around each other. This uniqueness was known to our enlightened seers.
Arundhati Mata was the wife of Maharishi Vashishtha and she is known for her pure character and dedication towards husband. Hence, viewing this twin star system by the married couple immediately after Saptapadi in many areas of India is considered very auspicious.

Another small quiz. Do not use Google. If you do not know the answer, it's absolutely normal. You will learn from it.

Who recommended the name "Krishna" to Bhagwan Shri Krishna?

भगवान श्री कृष्ण को "कृष्ण" नाम किसके कहने पर दिया गया था?
Okay, very good to know that many people fot the correct answer. First reply to this tweet was itself a correct answer.

Maharishi Garg was the person who advised Nand Baba and Yashoda Ma to give the name Krishna. He was sent to Gokul by Vasudev.

Avoid mental and physical violence, jealousy, unnecessary anger. At same time, respect mother, father and such figures around you. They increase auspiciousness (and decrease malefic nature) of Sun and Moon irrespective of their positions in chart.
Avoid unwanted aggression in behaviour, do not use abusive words for females and meditate daily. Avoid backbiting at all costs. This will further strengthen the positive impact of Sun and Moon in your chart.
Avoid physical and verbal violence in all forms. Be kind to your friends. Keep kind and soft behaviour towards them. Donate blood whenever it is possible. It is will gradually reduce malefic impact of Mars, if any, in your chart.
