The NRA members' meeting and board meeting will take place on October 2nd in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Sheraton & Le Meridien. It will be the latest opportunity for members and directors to provide input on the group's direction and legal strategy. thereload.com/nra-reschedule…
The meetings come as New York's Attorney General ramps up her legal attack on the organization with a new 187-page filing that details dozens of specific claims of corruption and mismanagement. She asking for the NRA to be shut down. thereload.com/nra-reschedule…
Both meetings would have been held during the NRA's Annual Meeting that was scheduled for earlier this month. With that canceled, alongside the crowd-drawing events, the oversight meetings will probably draw few members. thereload.com/nra-reschedule…
So, I doubt we'll see a repeat of the 2019 members' meeting that blew up into a big shouting match between reformers and board members.

The ACLU is arguing that New York's may issue gun-carry law is needed to protect First Amendment rights. Of course, 42 states and DC already have gun-carry laws that are less restrictive and arbitrary than New York. They don't address that in the brief.
The ACLU's section on historical restrictions is at least more arguable. But, boy, the core of their argument is very weak.
Deleted a previous tweet asking if Greene was wearing hearing protection while shooting this 50 BMG because I found a higher quality copy and it looks like she is wearing some in-ear protection. No eye protection is still a problem but I'm glad she at least has ear protection.
I still have several questions about this ad. Why did they set off a car bomb? How did they create the explosion? Did they have professional supervision for something as dangerous as blowing up a car? The ad doesn't feature any disclaimers to that effect.
I wasn't looking for a particular outcome when I was looking into the allegations against David Chipman. I was interested in vetting a candidate for one of the most powerful law enforcement positions in the federal government. I feel I did that and I'm glad I was able to.
The Reload won't shy away from investigating public officials up for powerful roles in government. And we won't shy away from telling many other stories about guns in America which often go unreported.
The lawyers for the NRA members trying to intervene just announced they've added an NRA board member to their motion. The board member in question is Rocky Marshall.
The judge denies the motion to intervene by the individual board members. He did say he would consider a future motion that included the NRA board member. He's giving his reasoning now.
Which part are you alleging was fabricated and what is your evidence? This is a serious allegation and it ought to be accompanied by some actual evidence.
The Department of Justice and David Chipman himself confirmed the existence of Equal Employment Opportunity Complaints against him. My ATF sources corroborated they heard the story of Chipman making a racist remark before news of it broke. thereload.com/atf-agents-cor…
Chipman said he wasn't disciplined over the complaints and DOJ claims they were "meritless." But neither will say what was in the complaints or release them to the public or Congress. thereload.com/mcconnell-call…
There is a hearing in the New York AG's case against the NRA that will be live-streamed at 2:30 pm today. As @teamtrace reported earlier, you can watch live here by entering the password 5216: wowza.nycourts.gov/VirtualCourt/n…
@teamtrace I would expect an update in this hearing about the attempt by an NRA member, Frank Tait, to intervene in the suit in opposition to the current NRA leadership. That effort may be joined by some of the dissident board members including Rocky Marshall & Phil Journey.
This hearing is happening now. The Judge seems very skeptical about letting NRA members intervene in the case. The members' lawyers are making their case now.
