I’d argue about 50% of the time it’s not you who’s bad at getting client results
It’s that the client has a shitty offer
You have to learn to detect what is and what is not a good offer
Only way to do this is to be in the trenches actively seeing who is making money doing exactly what
Such is the reason asking how much money prospects make is important
If they’re making nothing it’s for a reason
Example:
“We do Facebook ads for e-commerce agencies”
Okay, do you do the creatives?
“No but we give the client guidance on creatives”
Then what is the point of working with you?
The creative is literally the entire ad
You sell ads as a service but don’t make ads?
Then you’ve got shit like
“We sell websites to plumbers”
If you knew anything about plumbers you’d know they do not give a fuck about a website they’re booked solid for the next month off their google my business listing
Target market mismatch:
Offer: product launch agency, gets you listed on product hunt and whatnot
Client directs you to target other marketing agencies
Literally makes no sense
Marketing agencies aren’t doing product launches on producthunt
You target SaaS
Price mismatch:
“We sell email marketing to e-commerce stores $1k/mo”
Good luck, LTV too low
Price mismatch 2:
“We sell websites to local businesses $30k”
You cannot sell this with cold traffic. It’s literally impossible
UNLESS
Website is SPECIFICALLY for one EXTREMELY targeted niche and you’ve done it before.
You sold conversion optimized pages to franchise 1
You approach franchise 2 and told them they’re making so much because of what you did
I absolutely promise you’re not selling a $20k-$30k unless it achieved a quantifiable outcome
“It looks really nice”
WHO FUCKING CARES
There’s no unique mechanism
Fuck it send me a DM I’ll give you feedback on your offer
I’ll tell you exactly how you should sell it, where to sell it, or how to reposition it
