We have just sent this email to the authorities #AUOBEdinburgh 🏴
'Good afternoon,
It has been encouraging to hear Police Scotland are willing to facilitate the procession on Saturday from Calton Hill to the Parliament. (1)
Now this is the case we call on @Edinburgh_CC to grant immediate official permission for the #AUOBEdinburgh march on Saturday, as the @EdinburghPolice previous position of not taking responsibility has been the only obstacle in the way. (2)
In the interests of public order and public safety, knowing the longer this goes on the more likely it will increase the numbers on Saturday and with the confusion caused create a length and breadth to the demonstration across the City, we ask you to grant permission today. (3)
We await this as a matter of urgency so we can update our social media. Many thousands of people are waiting to find out.
Regards,
All Under One Banner (4)

Yesterday Edinburgh City Council decided to refuse permission for All Under One Banner (AUOB) to hold a march from Calton Hill to the Parliament, taking place tomorrow 25 September. (1)
The reason given was that a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order requires a minimum of 8 weeks. Earlier this week justification by Council officials for refusing this route was given to be due to objections by Police. (2)
Police in Edinburgh have since said they are willing to facilitate the march from Calton Hill, however the Council yesterday refused to change their decision. (3)
1, Earlier this week we announced we can and will safely stage one socially distanced static Demo every month until such a time that we can call a mass gathering as a March- which will be one point after Phase 4 has begun; but in the meantime it's vital to do what can be done..
2, We announced the first 3 Demos- July 20 at the Scottish parliament, Aug 19 at Bannockburn field and Sept 17 at George Square- each one symbolic in its own way. To ensure the safety of participants & the public we have to carefully limit the numbers of those who can take part..
3, As such we launched an online form for all individuals & 'social bubbles' to register intent to participate, then once confirmed by the organiser, @AUOBALBA, such participants are booked in until we have the total no. required- with communication ongoing towards the events..
