The case of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, known collectively as the “Two Michaels”... Michael Kovrig has been a member of the ICG since 2017... The ICG was first founded in 1995. Its initial seed funding was provided by George Soros...
thecanadafiles.com/articles/micha…
The ICG frames itself as working to prevent wars and maintain global stability. Yet, as exposed by both the Grayzone and the New Left Review, its policies in actuality have sought to enforce regime change...
and the expansion of NATO and other US-led alliances in Europe, the Middle East, and around the world.
Ultimately, it is clear that, rather than function as an impartial advocate for global peace and stability, the ICG has actually proven itself to be a Western-backed force for instability and regime-change operations worldwide...
..., going as far as to back violent jihadis and secessionists to accomplish US-led regime-change goals.
As a member of the ICG’s Northeast Asia section, Kovrig views Chinese cooperation with western imperialist aims as key to facilitating regime change in North Korea.
Given Spavor’s close ties with Kovrig and his leadership of Paektu Exchanges, which saw him posting sensitive photos such as soldiers in military uniforms,...
... military vehicles, and Belt-and-Road infrastructure on social media, it’s very likely that China saw Spavor as a threat to national security.

Today, I read a meaningful passage on reddit. I agree with it. Image
"sounds like a dogmatic application of the Russian / USSR's conditions to China.

The material conditions of China were of imperialism / colonialism from other countries on one side of a contradiction against the Chinese people entirely - no matter their class. "
"The CPC successfully used this to unite with the KMT to end imperialism/colonialism within China almost entirely which was a very difficult task, and then they successfully took over the nation from the KMT."

China’s budget will likely be in or near balance for the first time in roughly four decades, a sign of tight fiscal policy during the year despite a slowing economy, according to a study from the East Asian Institute.
bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
China recovered from the Covid (economic) shock without loosening its fiscal policy. Unlike US/Japan. No big stimulus, no drastic reduction of interest rate, no QE, no money printer going brrrrr.
And China still have the option to do all those in the future. It's like going back to 100% hp with your mana/potions still intact, nothing on cooldown. While US have already exhausted all their mana/potions.

I think China's former President Hu Jintao has always been underestimated.
His "Scientific Outlook on Socialist Development" is the theoretical cornerstone of China's transformation to a modern & strong socialist country. (1/X)
President Hu Jintao first put forward the "scientific outlook on development" in his speech on July 28, 2003. In 2007, at the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, this theory was written into the CPC Constitution. (2/X)
Humanism is at the center of the "scientific outlook on development".
The people-oriented concept is "to take the interests of the people as the starting point and...

"wow, i never imagined the day where i would be considering China policy as far superior than US. We have been getting weaker and weaker..."
Sometimes the comments under FOX news are much more interesting than the news itself.😅

"I am starting to worry that China is going to eat our lunch. China has restricted teenagers video games to a maximum of 3 hours per week, which means that all those kids will have many hours to learn and improve themselves..."
"... Add to that that people in China have less obesity, hypertension, etc. They are also building a strong military and a sense of patriotism. The US needs to go back to focus on the truth, family values, hard work, excellence and the future of our Country."

Some China propaganda posters I like, 1960s-1970s.
... ...
“Speed Up Agriculture Using Modern Machinery.” 1971.
The biggest change that socialism brings to China was the comprehensive promotion of women's rights. Women can become workers, drivers, pilots and state leaders.
“Produce More Coal and Support the Socialist Construction.” c. 1970.
Industrialization was the main goal set by the PRC from the beginning of its establishment.
“Never Tire of Training to Destroy The Enemy.” 1970.
At the beginning of the founding of the PRC, there was no air force. Nevertheless, the PLA defeated the US military in Korea War.

China has administered more than 945 million vaccine doses, more than a third of the global total... With about 17 million shots injected every day this month, China is on pace to surpass a billion shots in the coming days.
nytimes.com/2021/06/18/wor…
To get its vaccine drive going, China pulled out its playbook for pandemic success: a top-down approach that relies on a mix of high-tech tools and old-fashioned, grass-roots mobilization — with some inducements thrown in.
Compared with the United States, where local officials have sought to boost inoculations by offering lures such as million-dollar lottery prizes and free weed, the incentives in China have been humbler.
