A powerful and impactful address by PM @narendramodi to the UN General Assembly today. 12 big policy takeaways:

1. Representing the Mother of Democracy and based on his own experiences, PM affirms that democracy can deliver, democracy has delivered.
2. His governance vision is one where no one is left behind. Therefore, the pursuit of integrated and equitable development. The numbers PM shared speak for our Government’s record.
3. The impact of India’s development on global progress is evident. As PM noted, when India grows, the world grows; when India reforms, the world transforms.

4.A strong message of a foreign policy for global good. India’s importance as a responder and a contributor underlined.
5. Resumption of vaccine supplies to the world is one clear indicator in that regard.

6. Highlights the transformational role of technology in our daily lives. But equally, emphasized the significance of Technology with Democratic Values.
7. Diversified, resilient and expanded global value chains and production centers is in our collective interest.

8. Speaks of India’s strong record on climate action and its ambitious vision, including renewable energy goals and green hydrogen.
9. The ocean and its resources must be protected. This lifeline should be safeguarded from expansion and exclusion.

10. Cautions against regressive thinking and extremism. Using terrorism as a political tool will backfire on those practicing it.
11. On Afghanistan, must not allow use of its soil by terrorists. Nor should its predicament be taken advantage of by other states. The world has an obligation to its women, children and minorities.
12. The United Nations must enhance its effectiveness and reliability. There are questions on that count.

Foreign friendships matter. Every life counts; and every gesture makes a difference.

19 hospitals across India see that through their new oxygen generating plants.

A global challenge meets a global response.

But let India speak for itself:
From US, UK, UAE and Israel-
From France-

Enjoyed the conversation with FM @JY_LeDrian & FM @MarisePayne at #Raisina2021 on Indo-Pacific partnerships today.

Another important plurilateral in the making.

Indo-Pacific is a strong message. India will not be boxed between Malacca Strait and the Gulf of Aden. Our interests & activities go way beyond. Australia and France are part of that canvas.
Multilateralism has fallen short. And bilateral delivery is not what it used to be. World moving towards multipolarity, rebalancing & plurilateralism. Shared values and comforts are creating new combinations. Will not fall for mind games.

Must-read interview by PM @narendramodi in @EconomicTimes today. 8 key takeaways for the international community-

m.economictimes.com/news/politics-…
1. India will become a global manufacturing hub on its own strengths. Our effort is not to become some country’s alternative, but to become a country which offers unique opportunities. We want to see the progress of all. If India progresses, 1/6th of humanity will progress.
2. We saw how a new world order was formed after World War II. Something similar will happen post COVID19. This time, India will ride the bus of manufacturing and integrating in global supply chains. We have specific advantages in the form of democracy, demography and demand.

Meeting will assess the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on global affairs. Imperative for likeminded countries to coordinate responses. Affirm the importance of maintaining a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
Committed to upholding the rules-based international order, underpinned by the rule of law, transparency, freedom of navigation, respect for territorial integrity & sovereignty and peaceful resolution of disputes.

PM @narendramodi addressed the #UN75 virtually today. Key points from his speech:

•How long would a country have to wait particularly when the transformational changes happening in that country affect a large part of the world?
•With the changing times,if we don’t change, then the drive needed to bring change will also get weakened.

•India has always thought abt the interests of the whole humankind & not abt its own vested interests. This philosophy has always been the driving force of India's policies
•Any gesture of friendship by India towards one country is not directed against any 3rd country.

•India will not hesitate in raising its voice against the enemies of humanity, human race&human values–these incl terrorism, smuggling of illegal weapons, drugs & money-laundering.
