I made a decision not to cover the Shiiye incident in Abuja today. It saw it as a delibrate distraction, only to see it on France24 in a one sided and emotion laced coverage. Nigeria never gets a break. Subdue one incident another rears its head. Bizzare.
There seem to be a covert effort and to stir unrest and undermine the central government with the aim of making Nigeria ungovernable.
They hope people would use the social media service to organize mass protests at every given impulse for no reason.
The defeat of insurgent groups or infrastructural developments or even a drop or two of normalcy triggers a vicious response. These out of the blue event are not spontaneous. Who/whatever is behind this go to greath lenghts to conceal their ties.
In New York dozens of African American protesters said they were paid to join the protests..all they had to do was wave the Nigerian flag. Most of those masterminding these events have multiple passport. They have houses abroad, families abroad, their kids school abroad
..they have resources the vast majority of Nigerians do not have. Yet for some reason they are hell bent on inciting riots and protests..whatever it takes to destabilize the country. They will rather die than watch Nigeria weather the storm and focus on economic development
..so the average Nigerian can have a chance in life. They diligently search for anything that could trigger political demonstrations. Now make no mistake. I am not political. I did not even vote for the present administration. But i am also not a mindless herde.
What is the point in hating the government and wishing ill for the country just to say " i told you so ". It is only kicking against the pricks with naked feet..and will only end up hurting myself..not them.
Most of these instigators do this for punchline and publicity. They really dont care. My grieviances is that i know all too well that no nation can develop without political and social stability. That is the very thing some interest groups are trying to hard to prevent.

Watched a clip of Europeans mocking Britain over fuel scarcity in an "I told you so" fashion...BREXIT. This is the only country after France that can provide Europe with a nuclear deterrent.
France on its part could be the pillar of European security as the
United States pivots to the east. Instead its playing Russian roulette with poor African states.
Britain left the EU under acrimonious circumstances. After decades of depending on the U.S on defence, can the EU defend itself in the face of am American retreat?
Europeans tool for granted the role America has played for over 70 years for its security. Now they having a hard time developing their own capability for collective defence. Europe has a long way to go before it can stand on its feet..especially with BREXIT and America's pivot
Someone asked ( a South African on DM).. more like challenged my claims and dismisses my citation of an INS Janes 2020 report that ranks the NAF number one in Sub Saharan Africa.
Making my answer public.
South Africa has the most sophisticated air force in SSA. The SAAF
flies the best 4th Gen fighter in SSA, Gripen and has an impressive military industrial complex. Decades ahead of Nigeria. No contest. The SAAF has roughly 40 strike fixed wing assets that consists of 17 Gripen fighters and 23 Hawk Mk.130 trainer/light attack.
But. By December 2021 the Nigerian Air Force will have 86 attack aircrafts (COIN/light attack/fighter interceptor) and 12 armed attack drones in its inventory.
Troubling development in Mali. My source has picked up on French Special Forces on two helicopters with a ton of supplies arrive a staging base in Mali. This is not good. Its gonna be an eventful week.
Mali's President may seriously want to beef up his security detail.
France has covertly threatened these leaders with assassination. A threat that should not be taken lightly. Its hard to understand why a sovereign state like Mali is denied the right to chart the course of its own future. Thr Wagner Group performed well in Syria.
The Malians are tired of war and want stability. Their decision to reach out to Russia is an embodiment of this determination. French invasive campaign to stop Russian and covert threats to the leader of the Junta is stunning.
You know what's sad about this footage? Its that no matter what, Africa will NEVER be given the due credit and respect it deserves.
It took a coalition of 68 countries to take down ISIS in Syria and Iraq. It took the naval forces of dozens of countries to provide safe passages for merchant vessels and oil tankers in Somalia's coast. Heck A-STAN enjoyed an $85 billion military aid package and still faltered.
Nigeria on the other hand, a nation with no prior experience in COIN warfare has done/is doing what very few countries in the world can manage..that is containing the deadliest terrorist group in the world and securing the worlds most dangerous waterways simultaneoulsy...ALONE
Last year China Electronic Giant ‘CNIEC’ wooed the Nigerian Army to establish an Assembly Line for Manufacturing Defence Equipment to help Nigeria become empowered to locally manufacture high tech defence equipment.
CEIEC disclosed plans to introduce an Assembly and Production Line for local manufacturing of defence equipment and other military hardwares in Nigeria. Now, this company CEIEC produces defence products such as C4I System, Command and Control System for defence purposes, and
..radar systems for the Chinese military. So this is not some upstart seeking international customers.
The company has CEIEC currently has the contract for defence electronic for over 30 countries across the world. The Nigerian army is already a major operator of Chinese
DISCLAIMER: I am not advocating for war. The possibility of one is remote. This is an educated and factual analysis to convince sceptics how events will play out if the unthinkable happens.
In the event Nigeria has to take back Bakassi..many erroneously site the challenges Nigeria faces with counter insurgency and use it as a yard stick to measure a nations military capability. This is a very flawed line of thought.
When the Boko Haram insurgency started, the Nigerian military was flawed to tackle Boko Haram. Conceptually the focus of the Nigerian military was on conventional warfare and the enemy was an unconventional one. Contemporary weaponry and firepower that can devastate an army
