@HallerSeb@mbatshuayi Immediately in the first highlight, Batshuayi shows his knack for finding space, slipping into the space behind the CB that pushed up to receive the ball and finding the left goal post from the ensuing shot.
In a system built around the striker, Ajax's first highlight had Haller linking up play ala Harry Kane and then just being BIG in front of the 6 yard box.
If only he had connected to the cross, Ajax would've been 1-0 up here.
Even in the next highlight where Haller was minimally involved, look how he shields off his defender with his WIDE frame.
As wide as all those Amsterdam canals.
Reminds me of how a basketball player boxes out/posts up.
The next highlight shows how to best utilize Haller.
Have him stay in central areas, cross to find him, and he's gonna get that header on target.
Only a fine save from Destanoglu managed to deny the striker.
The next highlight is Hallers goal - where he shielded his defender, and connected with the cross.
Just fyi, Haller created 1.7 npxG in this game on his own.
For comparison's sake, he outscored Besiktas' whole team on chance quality alone.
Haller (1.7xG) - Besiktas (0.6xG)
And with the final 2 highlights, the same thing happens.
Crosses into the box, Haller dominating the poor, pitiful Besiktas CBs for headers.
He could've had a hattrick or more, if not for fine reflex saves from Destanoglu.
Still think WHU made the right decision to sell him?
My general impression after watching highlights of the 2 games they played so far is that Sarawak Utd is a hardworking team that doesn't take anything for granted.
Interesting game here. Again, the concept of this series is not watching the full game and seeing how much I can guess what actually happened in the full game from analysing the highlights only.
So, Chelsea played with their typical 3-4-3 formation with Mason Mount restored after missing their EPL game this week (which lost me FPL points btw, not salty at all.)
Zenit parked with a BIG 5-4-1 bus on the pitch and surprisingly, was not stopped by any authorities.
First highlight to talk about in the game is obviously Rudiger's marauding run from defence str8 through the Zenit's defence.
Quick Highlights Analysis: Young Boys 2-1 Man Utd #UCL (A Thread)
Starting with the Lineups, I'm not familiar with Young Boys, but follow the EPL.
Why is Pogba not playing on the left wing and VDB in the middle of the park?
Did we forget the 4 assists he managed playing on the left wing on the first day of the EPL that made every fantasy manager to doubt their choice not to pick him? (Not me being salty)
I don't know what goes on in training, but why is Dean Henderson not even getting on the bench for a UCL game? If Tom Heaton is on the bench in such a match and Hendo is not starting, I'd rather Hendo being sold to Sheff Utd in that case, for development's sake.
While I have the time before dinner, gonna do a quick preview of what to expect in the KL City - Terengganu game later tonight!
Now, first of all, KL City is sat right smack in the middle of the table - safe from relegation, but nowhere near the title.
Based on their previous games, I don't expect any dropoff in intensity, but since they officially have nothing left to play for, who knows?
Terengganu will be fighting for runner-ups in the league and look to secure their place in the continental competition.
With Kedah on the 3rd best form in the league right now (surprisingly just behind KL City), Terengganu needs to pick up points here to solidfy their place.
