Because you demanded it, an update: Got to his third phase three times last night (after never getting there), but got too frantic and got owned by lightning.

Recognizing his "tell" when he's doing a move you can counter was the way out of my rut.
Definitely evolved from "this is impossible" to "oh, I know how to win if I don't panic" yesterday, so thanks for the replies - that helped!
Like a lot of amateur From Software players, I find the Dragonrot thing pretty annoying, but I'll just let it build up and cure it when I finally win.
My strategy last night: Constantly be attacking, counter some thrusts and heal during others (he seems to take a few seconds to recover, too), lots of Whirlwind Slash as a mid-air combat art. ie, I jump on him, start the attack on way down, do posture damage.
I'm not gaming as much as I did during the worst of the pandemic, bc there's, you know, stuff to do now. But I really like this for the same reason I (to my surprise) like playing golf. It's fun to play the same course/game as other people and compare notes.
If you follow me for non-game reasons, here is someone much much better at the game playing this boss.
Actually that guy's not *that* much better than me - here's someone who never gets hit somehow

hiring Lionel Hutz and suing over this
I was trying to replace this backpack, which I really liked - good for work commute, good for a one-night or two-night work trip. I'd take advice on a replacement... rei.com/product/105921…
Anyway, I didn't pay $50 to mail the thing because I thought the "guarantee" was "we won't repair your good bag but can give you a shittier one."

Here's the vote in the Venice precinct where the gorilla mask woman threw an egg at Elder. Frustration with the homeless camps there did not translate to many pro-recall votes. latimes.com/projects/newso…
We'll need precinct results in Napa to find out how Newsom did around the French Laundry, but every indication is a landslide "no" vote.
The recall got absolutely bodied in LA. You could drive for two hours and not hit a "yes" precinct, especially if you avoid Beverly Hills.

For some reason I made "Now That's What I Call Music" playlists of the big hits and standards from the distant past. If you voted for Warren G. Harding you were listening to these songs open.spotify.com/playlist/6eTk9…
Because I am a millennial and therefore have undiagnosed OCD, I actually went back to check when the songs charted, so all the lists are in that chronological order.
Doesn't really get popping until the 40s open.spotify.com/playlist/0zRdQ…

Elder takes the stage shortly after 10 pm. "I want to thank my brilliant campaign staff..."
Elder thanking staff by name, thanking surrogates like Betty Chu and Gloria Romero. "She's a Democrat - hopefully a recovering Democrat, we will see."
ELDER CONCEDES

"Let's be gracious in defeat," Elder says. "We may have lost the battle, but we are going to win the war."

Other networks might have called the race, but we’ve got Fox at the Elder party and they’re not Arizona-ing this one
Fox call onscreen, party getting slightly quieter
Former Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado onstage now, saying he just talked to Larry Elder.

"Some TV stations are saying it's coming to an end. It's way too early. They just counted the mail ballots. They need to count the real ballots, from working people."

Pastor Jack Hibbs leads Elder election night party in prayer, starting with reference to the Democratic machine. "Father, we would pray that you dismantle everything they sought to do every day up til now. All of the spin. All of the stuff."
Fox News just turned on here, with a chyron in the corner showing the first recall results: No up 66-34.

Network is playing footage of the gorilla-mask cyclist attacking Elder on a loop.
Okay, the loop is over, I just noticed it because my wide self is in the corner of the shot.
