The details necessary for us to make the declaration on your behalf must be provided to us via a template (available upon request) at least 24 hours before the unit is sent to the port. The vehicle must not arrive at Dover until the EXS declaration has been created
You will need to submit an ‘arrived’ Exit Summary Declaration which removes the requirement to submit a separate arrival message in CHIEF. To do this, you will need to submit an Export Full Declaration in CHIEF using the new Customs Procedure Code (CPS) 1/2
- 10 00 056. This CPC code will be available in CHIEF from 1 October 2021 and is available for testing in CHIEF HMUT. You will need to ensure your software is compatible with this new CPC code 2/2
Once your exit summary declaration is accepted, a movement reference number (MRN) will be issued. The declarant will be notified by CHIEF whether permission to progress has been given or whether further checks are required.
You should not move to the border location until P2P is received, or you are asked to do so. Once this has happened, you may proceed to Dover port and the goods may be exported.
AN EXS DECLARATION MUST BE SUBMITTED TO CHIEF BEFORE THE VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE TERMINAL.
This is essential to maintain smooth operations and a constant flow within our terminals, and to avoid disruption and congestion.
For this reason, failure to advise P&O before port arrival may result in the unit/vehicle being refused entry to the terminal or additional handling charges having to be applied by the port operator.
Sounds like a shitshow ? That’s exactly what it is .
Incidentally- look at the current waiting times at both ports . Be interesting to see how many are refused entry out the port to Europe ....

Don’t forget : From the 1st October 2021, GB Exit Summary Declarations (EXS) will be legally required for empty pallets, containers and vehicles moved under a transport contract exported to the EU. Less red tape remember .. #Brexit
Remember the pallets ... make sure they are properly stamped . Im sure I mentioned something about pallets ages ago
Also..A Safety and Security Declaration (SSD) is used by border authorities to analyse the potential risk caused to their territory by goods crossing their border. It is not about the duties and taxes. There are two types of declaration – ENS (entry summary declaration) and EXS
@mrjamesob to deliver fuel you need an ADR licence in tanks / can do a course in a week-However once you have the licence it’s essential to train on how to collect from a refinery - and the safe unloading at a petrol station - need anti static clothing etc . It’s quite involved !
I had an adr licence , but In packages - I have also carried fuel in quantities up to 333KGS - it’s an ADR thing with weights
If you have a shortage of adr drivers ... what about the distribution of food products ? Hot x bun mix for one , is in its pure form, class 3 flammable and requires an adr licence .
Help me out
Just been to Italy-did a shop in como-no shortages in fact too much choice of everything - same applies in Switzerland
Fuel seems to be cheaper than it was
Lots of tourists from all over Europe
Life seems normal
Coming back tk the U.K. :
The passenger locator form is like a bible
I get a txt from the Swiss about the U.K. being on a restricted list
To come back from Europe you need tests - it’s enough to make you think sod it and stay in the U.K.
You know
Everything in the U.K. seems quite frankly f****** miserable right now
It’s almost as if Johnson wants to stop as many people as possible from leaving and experiencing life outside the U.K. post brexit
theparliamentmagazine.eu/news/article/e… a few of my friends have been told by their insurers that they will no longer cover unlimited travel to Europe - and they’ve been with them for years . Is this treaty to blame ? Also my claim for my accident was already in the system and rushed through
I was told by the solicitor handling my claim if it wasn’t placed in the U.K. legal system by 31/12/20 then it would be almost impossible to chase . But that was a no deal brexit . Reading this makes it just as bad
Border force Poland on quest might at one point have been seen as somewhat comical , but in reality people bringing in products from outside the EU ( Ukraine ) into Poland ( in the EU ) is exactly what we’ll be subject to as time goes on ..
As borders become more established , and customs officials learn and become accustomed to knowing the regulations on prohibited goods - expect to see the U.K. subject to exactly the same treatment as other counties bordering the EU .
Imagine a family going on holiday to France , car and caravan at the ready. Fridge full of food. Having ALL of your dairy and meat products taken away and also issued with fines. Aint brexit great . Of course Covid has suppressed this .. so far
