Here are 20 questions you should ask yourself today that will make you rethink your life. 🧵👇

1. Do I go to bed genuinely happy every night?

If not, aim to fix that in the moment. When I've had a rough day and am feeling defeated, I think of this Paul Walker quote. It makes me snap out of it every time.
2. Who are the 5 closest people I can't imagine life without?

When did you last spend time with them? Get something on the schedule today. Don't take that quality time for granted.
3. If I keep going at my current rate, 5 years from now, will my body appreciate the way I've taken care of it or hate me?

When work and life get busy, the workout routine is usually one of the first things we cut.

Take care of your body. Your older self will thank you.
4. What is my purpose for waking up in the morning?

@NeilPasricha refers to this as your "ikigai" (pronounced like "icky guy"). It's the thing that drives you the most. Think of this as your north star.
5. Who do I need to cut out of my life?

Sometimes you need to fire your friends. If someone is not adding happiness or value to your life, they're likely holding you back. Have a high standard for who you surround yourself with.
6. What does my perfect day look like?

Someone asked me this recently, and I realized I had no idea how to answer. It's a valuable thought exercise to know what you should be optimizing your life for.
7. What is my biggest regret?

This one will hurt to think about and reflect on. But it will make sure you don't pass up similar opportunities in the future.

My biggest regret: Not studying abroad in college.

Now (outside of a pandemic), I try to travel as much as possible.
8. When angry, ask yourself: "Will I care about this tomorrow? A day from now? A week?"

The further out you think, the more you'll realize how trivial some problems are vs. how they feel in the moment.
9. What is holding me back?

Identifying obstacles in your life means you're one step closer to finding a solution for them. Most times, these obstacles are probably not as daunting as they seem.

Identify 1 obstacle that has been holding you back and make a plan to fix it.
10. When at a decision point, ask yourself: "If money wasn't a factor, how would that impact my decision?"

This works in business & life. Removing money from the equation takes you out of a limiting mindset & focuses on finding the best possible solution. It sparks creativity.
11. What are my greatest strengths?

We often spend a lot of our time trying to fix our weaknesses. Try doubling down on your strengths instead. You'll get more leverage this way.
12. When faced with a daunting task, ask yourself: "What does the 80% version of this look like?"

Good enough is better than perfect most of the time.
13. If I knew I had 1 year left to live, what would I do in that year?

Then ask yourself: "why wait?" Start taking action today.
14. What do I want to be remembered for?

This answer will shape what you do and how you interact with others daily.
15. In the craziness of my daily life, what am I not seeing?

This question will help you pinpoint areas of your life where things may have fallen through the cracks.

How do your actions impact those around you?
16. When you're down, what lifts your spirits immediately?

I'll call this the Happy Gilmore question. Find your happy place.
17. What is my greatest fear?

Don't say "heights" or "spiders." Think deeper.

Embrace it and reframe it positively. Our fears are often caused by overthinking.

Think of 5 arguments to tell yourself why you should not be afraid of this fear.
18. What is the top item on my bucket list?

Do you have a plan to cross it off the list? If not, start planning today. Don't let another day go by.
19. When was the last time I stepped outside of my comfort zone and tried something new?

Be more adventurous. It's the best way to learn and grow.
20. What am I still trying to prove to myself?

Why is it so important to you? What does the end state look like? This question will get to the root of your most important goals.

Know what the key to changing the world is?

Start the day by making your bed.

I learned this from one of my favorite speeches of all time by US Navy Admiral, William H. McRaven. Quick excerpt below👇
"If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.

If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day.

It will give you a small sense of pride, and will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another.
By the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.

Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you’ll never be able to do the big things right.
