Getting your freelance client can be painful.

So here's how to get your FIRST paid gig on easy mode:

Thread:
First, having zero clients means you don't have a business

So instead of figuring out how to automate things, or creating templates, or reading more about closing deals...

Do this instead.
Reach out to:

→ Your parents
→ Family members
→ Friends
→ Acquaintances
→ Everyone on your contact list

Let them know you started a business.
Why them first?

Because working with people you trust is easier than working with strangers.

So get first-hand experience by working with them

Meanwhile, develop your system to deliver on your promises

And if you fail, at least you failed with something that will forgive you
How to reach out?

Send this email.

Hey NAME,

I just started a web design agency.

I have some ideas to help you get more clients with a new website.

Do you have time to talk this week?

– YourName
===

Keep it simple.

Remember: you're reaching out to friends and family.
Once they agree to the meeting, book it (use Calendly)

What' next?

During the meeting, tell them what you can do for them

Give them a family discount

Or, dare I say, work for free

Then deliver on your promises

By doing so, people will happily provide you with a testimonial.
These first testimonials are golden.

It doesn't even matter if you did the work for free.

What matters is that you delivered.

What matters is that they're happy with your work.

And now that you have a testimonial, start using it to promote your services with confidence.
Here's my timeline on my firsts clients.

First Website:
My own site

Second Website (Free):
My dad's business

Third Website (PAID):
My godmother.

Fourth Website (Paid):
A website for church friends.

Writing is hard.

But it doesn't have to be.

Here as 5 ways to fight writer's block:
Let me break it down for you.

Writer's Block is a dumb excuse you use to hide the fact you're afraid.

There's no such thing as writer's block.

Writer's block is a hoax.

There's only fear.
You fear embarrassment – "will it be good enough?"

You fear failure – "will it flop?"

Control the fear, and you'll never run out of things to say.

So let me reveal 5 ways to conquer your fear so you can write with bullet-proof confidence.

6 toxic writing habits that make you hate writing

And how to fix them

\thread
Writing can be messy.

And some habits make it even messier.

These habits:
• silently kill your motivation
• distract you from your goals
• make writing painful

Break free of these 6 toxic habits to enjoy your writing routine.
1. Editing while writing

Never edit while you're writing.

Follow this rule:
Write with your heart, edit with your mind.

While writing the first draft,
• Ignore the typos
• Forget about the syntax
• Keep the nonsensical ideas

Complete the crappy first draft.

Then edit it.

The first time I made $100K selling digital products back in 2019, I knew I was unto something.

Here are 7 Invaluable Lessons From Making My First $100K With Digital Products (Plus a bonus one).

\ thread
1. Marketing is everything

Promotion is just as important as the product.

Creating a product doesn't make you a single cent.

Marketing and self-promotion do.

Create a high-quality digital product.

And market the hell out of it.
Overwhelm the algorithm by promoting it like crazy.

Most people avoid it because they're scared others will call them sellouts.

These people are NGMI.

You, on the other hand, understand that this is how the game is played.

Promote. Promote. Promote.

A couple of days ago, I told one of my students,

"Help me grow my Instagram page"

The student said, "I can't because we have similar themes in our account and I would lose sales"

It crushed my heart.

I had been giving this person free consult calls for nearly a year.
My student built a super business using my advice.

And even gained some followers on Twitter because of my retweets.

It's amazing how self-interest and money supersede friendship.
It's not that I expected this person to help me.

It's the reason why.

Basically, "a couple of bucks comes before you, Jose" lolololol

Despite the fact, I had shared this person's work on my timeline and my emails.
