I know these kinds of tweets are catnip for The Discourse. I usually ignore them because they always feels like White People Problems(tm). But I feel compelled to comment on an $18k mortgage. 😂😂😂wut
Also it’s weird that people are focusing on the nanny’s salary. I assure you that the nanny is the only one in this scenario who is earning every penny of that money.
Assuming a 30 year at prime interest rate with standard down payment (which lol that’s a joke at this level), you’re talking a $5.2m or so mortgage. 😂😂
I just do this as a hobby. I have no point.
It’s weird how many people are fixated on the nanny’s salary. I don’t actually think 200k is wild. It’s just more than child care workers do make, not inherently more than they should make. It’s a 24 hour on-call job for rich children. I suspect 200k is a bargain.
Maybe if you call it a live in 24 hour on-call nurse with a minimum BSN, it feels more right to you?
Or you can think of it as a “mother” because, uh, that’s kind of what a mother is: 25/7 live in etc etc
It’s okay if the nanny makes more than you. Wow.
This got dark. I’m now willing to fight for this fictional nanny. I should at least name her if I’m going to go down in a blaze of glory for her. I am calling her…Beth Ann.

If you want to see my lose my ish, drop urgent deadlines into my workflow. I will pay triple to pull the plug every damn time. That's probably not a great way to conduct business but here I am, a flawed subject.
I do this thing where I forecast a month out, a quarter out, a year out. I know what my deadlines are. And then people will pop up with some nonsense about how you need to scan these EIGHT THINGS RIGHT NOW OR A CAT DIES and I will just get up and walk out before I entertain it.
Yasmin convinced me to read this. She is right. It is funny. And not a total slam as replies suggest. The bread and futter (fake butter) and cocktails sound great. But if you crack a beet with a hammer at my table, I get to laugh.
When people talk about being emotional over getting a vaccine, I am so confused. Do people just more feelings than I do? What’s all this emotional turmoil?
I always imagine these people in their modern kitchens weeping about a change in their paper towels’ perforation and then moving seamlessly to crying about having their life saved. Like it’s all on one emotional plane.
I’ve decided to block everyone who sort of plowed through the meaning here.
energy, frequency, vibe. Are all rich people hippies or does something about celebrity require this language?
Who is the expert on this? Maybe someone in cultural anthropology? Someone who studies the language of…the new California ideology as celebrity cultish? I don’t know what to call it but they would know.
When that level of two subculture icons from RIP-art loving cultures merge it creates a supernova event that creates a new cultural geography with attendant changes to geopolitics.
The spray painted El Caminos alone would have destabilized the Americas.
