So this is another INSANE interview that happened a few days ago. With Mr Tak Hyun min the house secretary again. This interview focuses on the really insane impact of BTS being appointed as presidential envoys, everything the media was supposed to report on but DID NOT+

And yes ladies and gentlemen we got confirmation that the media did not report and did their best to destroy instead. With host Kim Ou Joon who's interviewed Mr Kim Young Dae before for those of you who dont remember. I'm gonna try to translate as much as I can +

Last winter, this was discussed with with BTS's label. Originally this wasn't something we had prepared for the UN General assembly, this was supposed to be part of a program to introduce Korean culture to the world that was supposed to be matched up to the +

President's greeting tours".

Host Kim: " Ah so at first it had nothing to do with the UN..."

Mr Tak: "The presidential greeting tour, was something we'd done 5 years ago (or since 5 years) and we could see not only a diplomatic effect but also a cultural effect..so we thought+

Of turning it into an opportunity to really share and spread our culture. So we'd been working on such a project since last winter."

Mr tak continues: " Even the name of the project was the " Kim Gu project". (For those of you who dont know who Kim gu was and how important+

He is of a figure in Korean culture and history. KIM GU was not only an author (pen name: Baekbeom), was one of the leaders in the Korean independence movement against Japan, he was very for reunification between North and South korea and was also a president at one point+

Mr Tak: "because of the pandemic, this was not possible, even with the UN assembly we all thought it was gonna happen remotely, so we thought this time too we wouldn't be able to do it, but then we got a call from the UN...

Mr Tak: "Yes.. saying that two events were being done in person. One event is the general assembly greeting that all the leaders participate in and the other was the SDG moment event, the meeting of the council where they discuss sustainable development goals +

Host Kim: " Right...only the president would participate.."

Or was made to adjust and broaden the understanding of young people about current world challenges starting from the global climate change problem and explain/present to the eyes of the younger generation....so that was the perfect spot to put them."

Mr Tak: "More than our demands or the UN's demands, the most important thing at this point was BTS schedule (whether they would be able to fit us in)"

But this was an obvious problem that we needed to get resolved". (basically this could've messed everything up if their schedule didn't allow for it)

Mr Tak: "this is something that both the Korean government or the UN could not overcome."

Host Kim (still cracking up): +

"Something that neither the UN nor the Blue House, could help...Does it work with BTS schedule?"

Mr Tak: " So this was a project that was taken on after checking BTS schedule."

Host Kim: "So this was something that the UN wanted ?"

Mr Tak: " this would be undoable+

Without the UN wanting it..because more than you think, the UN is tired to keep everything as fair and even as possible with as little and almost machine like enforcement of equity. Which tries hard to keep it equal for everyone from small countries in Africa to the US."+

The host (talking in perspective of what other countries could say): " why are you only letting singers/artists from that country perfom?, you could definitely hear that type of statement"

Mr Tak: "of course, people could say that, and the UN really worried over that point but+

Nevertheless knowing the power and influence that they(BTS) possess and with the expectation that (because of that influence and power) the SDG moment would be able to be seen from all over the world...that's what they counted on."

Mr Tak: "in addition to that we must not neglect the important fact/aspect that the president of South Korea was selected as a representative of the world's top leaders to speak on their behalf."

Speech as a representative of the world's top leaders, and they basically ignored it (let it go) like this is something that's habitual/ ordinary. Plus, a Korean artist/singer, was selected as representative of the world's youth...this something unimaginable..."+

Mr Tak: " this year was the 30th year anniversary of Korea joining the UN, and there's a custom of giving a gift to the UN in commemoration, for example in the case of+

China they gave them a Bronze (don't now the word for it) piece of art, donating an exhibit or a piece of work to showcase one's own country's cultural achievements, then it gets placed/showcase somewhere at the UN assembly building....Originally we wanted to give a piece of art+

To the UN too but when we thought about it, it wasn't guaranteed that if we donated the art to the UN that it would be placed where we wanted it to be placed."

Mr Tak: "because the dedicated space is so limited... and also according to our laws we can't +

Export original artifacts, art..those have to be kept in the country...but also we couldn't possibly send in fakes (artifacts or art).. so we thought about it and the MET, one of the top 3 museums in the world...

Korean exhibit hall there..and to speak honestly compared other nations (exhibits) it's on the shabby side...however, using this opportunity if we donated something to them then people from all around the world would really be able to come and see it...

Mr Tak: "Yes so we were thinking if we were going to donate art this time we give to the MET..and as if happens that the MET had a greater demand for Korean cultural and wee waiting for such a chance..."

Mr Tak: "and over there they weren't asking for historical pieces but wanted modern pieces so we had no pressure or burden and were able to pick a modern art piece and go with The first lady and the special envoy (BTS)." +

And because of the fact that BTS and the first lady visited this became a noticeable thing... a lot of people were unaware that there was even a korean art museum...on top of that at first when we advised the MET that we had some art to donate to them they originally told us +

This gets translated correctly soon. Moral if the story is: The korean media completely disregarded the whole UN event and its real meaning and impact. BTS are basically national treasures for Korean diplomacy and culture and the UN event and presidential diplomatic tours+
