Several factors made me concerned about potential election fraud in 2017. One was the discovery that public officials had provided false assurances re: the ability of remote hackers to alter vote tallies & their own ability to know if this had occurred. 1/link.medium.com/ZomUaR7R5jb
Another was the discovery that only two vendors accounted for more than 80 percent of US election equipment and that one of them, ES&S, seemed to have had an unreasonable number of issues & dubious practices. ES&S also seemed to be corrupt. 2/ link.medium.com/CX8OXhkS5jb
Another was that many poll-defying or otherwise dubious results had favored Rs, eg, 2000 FL (bogus felon purge, 16k votes deleted from Gore, blocked recount), 02 GA (secret patches & paperless machines), 02 AL (7k votes deleted from Siegelman & illegal sealing of ballots), … 3/
… 04 Ohio (secret re-routing of results through Smartech in TN, which hosted the Bush WH emails + rigged recount), 2010 (DeMint wins against apparently planted Dem candidate who miraculously won the primary), 2016 (cell modems, remote access software, poll defying results). 4/
Perhaps most important: election-security experts said that the US rarely does what needs to be done to eliminate the possibility of hacked vote tallies: hand count paper ballots in a full recount or RIGOROUS (not dog & pony show) manual audit. 5/
I have never claimed to know for sure that fraud has occurred. My concern has always been that we do not have a system that allows us to eliminate this possibility. 6/
I remain very concerned, but Trump & his allies have all but destroyed meaningful advocacy in this area with their baseless claims and firehose of falsehoods. 7/
BTW, I reference 2017 in post 1 because that is when I began seriously researching election security. 8/
I almost forgot. The felons in management positions at voting machine vendor Global/Diebold also made me concerned. Who wouldn’t be? (The DOJ forced ES&S to dissolve Global/Diebold in 2010. The felons were gone by then.) cc: @paulkrugman 9/ nytimes.com/2003/12/02/opi…
This is a jaw dropping (in my opinion) excerpt from @JonathanSimon14’s excellent book, Code Red, about Jim DeMint’s dubious election win in 2010. 11/
12/ More on the DeMint race.
13/ Here is an excerpt from the 2016 edition of @JonathanSimon14’s book re: Republican Scott Brown’s dubious election victory that same year (2010).
14/ Another excerpt from his book about the 2010 election, this one discussing how the GOP won 16 out of 18 competitive House races, …
15/ … which is alarmingly reminiscent of the results in 2020, where the GOP won 27 out of 27 House races that were predicted to be tossups.
16/ Here are my notes re: two of those House races from 2020, which were almost certainly not audited meaningfully if at all (most likely not at all).
17/ And my notes re: the GOP’s use of shill candidates to siphon votes from Ds in Florida.
18/ I have been warning about ES&S’s outsized influence over US elections for years. This map is from VerifiedVoting.org’s verifier tool. As of July 2019, these states included one or more counties that used ES&S machines. (GA later switched to Dominion).
19/ My most recent piece re: ES&S. But for the Big Lie about Dominion, I believe it wld have been a major story. It still shld have been. It does not prove fraud. But it does prove that TX’s own examiners & state election office had serious concerns re:ESS whowhatwhy.org/politics/elect…
20/ Writing the article in post 19 took me months and made me absolutely miserable (not the fault of WhoWhatWhy, which was great.) It was so miserable that I haven’t written another article since - other than on Medium.
21/ There were so many documents and no experts who were willing to discuss them on the record due to the Big Lie (one expert wrote about it themself without mentioning that they got the material from me).
22/ BTW, Bob Urosevich was President of Global when felons held management positions. He also founded ES&S with his brother who remained at ES&S after Bob moved to Global. Does this prove fraud? No. Is it sketchy? IMO it is. legacy.tyt.com/2018/08/17/kob…
23/ I wrote the article in post 22 as well. It was Bev Harris who initially discovered & reported on the felons years ago.
24/ Those who have had no problems w/ the felons at Global should explain why, then, the Ninjas’ sketchy ties to Trump & his MAGA mob are considered newsworthy. How is it different? Aren’t they both alarming?

Eastman (of the infamous Eastman memo) & Charlie Kirk (founder of TPUSA, which now partners w/ Jack Posobiec who spread the #Pizzagate lie & which employed a guy a few years ago who has since been credibly accused of pedophilia) are also “fellows” at this crap “institute.” 1/
Oh my God. Pleeeease take this down. Lindsey Graham was not “so far down in the polls.” If you bothered to look for a link to support your statement, you would know that. I’m reporting it for spreading misinformation. I’ve had it. 1/
.@Sen_JoeManchin is harming his own state, which received a D grade for its failing infrastructure, by throwing a “wrench into budget, infrastructure costs.” 1/ rollcall.com/2021/09/30/man…
