Cost of office copy requests which ensure #openjustice rise by 10% as 'online discount' removed - Lord Wolfson said it's "considered correct for those who can pay more than the actual cost of the process to do so" as "Fees are the main source of direct income for courts" [1/3]
and increase "will supplement the additional funding already being provided by the Government"
Lord Wolfson denied that "removing the online discount does not infringe the principle of access to justice" at House of Lords debate in April 2021 [2/3]
A previous FOI disclosure revealed HMCTS processed some 6,600 Office Copy requests at a cost of £121,810 for Y/E May 2021 at Chancery division of the High Court in London [3/3]
I’m observing a Met Disciplinary hearing today:
“it is alleged that DCI Mason (then DS Mason) asked the victim inappropriate questions about her personal life, relationships and whether she would like to go for dinner that evening.”
I’ve been taken to a room and am watching the hearing via a video feed.
The sound keeps cutting out and is practically unwatchable.
The feed went blank midway through prosc reply. @metpoliceuk how is this Open Justice? #secretcourt
DCI James Mason alleged to have said “you still look amazingly hot” in an email to robbery victim.
