All ages 0-17…but look at 12-17. 5 times the Feb peak

5-11 yr olds 3 times the Feb peak.

This caught me on the hop as I thought child cases and hospitalisations were falling in Scotland.
Look at the last 4 weeks on this chart.

Let’s hope this week’s data shows a sharp drop.

Here’s the data provided showing the data since March. Quite stark

But so is that drop to a still high 50 in the last week. Maybe that is vaccine effect?

If so it points strongly towards suggesting we should have vaccinated in the summer hols…& ENGLAND needing to catch up.

91 child Covid deaths since the start of the pandemic in the U.K. as a whole

Assuming the deaths started in April that would amount to an average of c.5 deaths A MONTH for the whole of the U.K.

Now c 3 A WEEK in England alone.

UK industry could face shutdowns as wholesale gas price hits record high (& not just in the U.K.)

The wholesale gas price for day-ahead delivery rose above the £3 per therm level for the first time on Wednesday morning, hitting 350p at one point

That was even higher than the spike in demand for gas during February 2018’s “Beast from the East” cold snap.

Gas prices also hit highs across the continent, where the energy squeeze helped drive down shares, with Europe’s regional Stoxx 600 index falling 1.9% in early trading
The FTSE 100 down 1.8% in London.

High energy usage industries are particularly hard hit, eg steel, fertiliser and chemical plants that produce essential supplies to the market.

Moody’s predicts more firms going to the wall as a consequence.

As I suspected Children aged 12 to 15 may not get Covid jab by half-term in England due to concerns about high infection rates.

Also, I suspect, about uncertainty as to who has had it recently and who has not given the incoherent mitigation (not) policy theguardian.com/education/2021…
