Today is #NationalPoetryDay, but misogyny doesn’t take a day off so neither do we.

This poem is dedicated to .@SussexUni. May you be called to account for your failure to take a stand against misogyny.

Beware of men who wear women
wear women as skins
invented personas to hide themselves in
men who affirm the law of possession
who colonise language of form and oppression
men dressed in womanskin

Beware of men who wear women
who wear women’s faces
dilettantes, smitten by
all that abases
flushed by the thrill of the heat of their shame
believing all women must relish the same as
the men who wear women’s faces

Beware of men who wear women as monstrous creations
werewomen, shaped by ignoble sensations
men who are willing to consume whole lives
who thrive on a diet of outrageous lies
who cultivate insatiable, miserable cravings
to celebrate compulsion as something amazing
wherever men dominate in sovereignty or strength
that’s where they find out their influence
men who hate women
who would break women
men who would tear women down

Beware of those men who would wear women out
abrasives, reactive to female behaviour
who harden their hearts for political clout
and choke out our hopes with the roots of their culture
cold men, inured to our words and our fury
debating our pain for such power and glory
men full of warmth for their own persuasion
men who have needs and the means to assuage them
buying our bodies whilst selling our rights
subverting a woman’s fight

Be wary
Beware
Be aware of the men who wear women.

Interesting. But no.
Systematic patriarchal abuse =/= violence.
Violence is a tool used against transgressive men, but get this,
women were never going to keep to the rules anyway, because BIOLOGY.
It’s why sex-selective abortions are out of control in certain societies.
If you’re going to be born female, you’re going to be born WRONG.
Please understand.
The system of patriarchy doesn’t need you to be born male, it needs you to become compliant. That is why it punishes gay men. Not because it doesn’t like gay sex, but because it doesn’t like the
idea of a man who might let the side down and not enforce control over a woman.
That’s why it prefers it’s gay men to trans themselves out of manhood and into compliant, stereotype-embracing transwomanhood. Iran shows you the way.

“The Ministry of Justice … are committed to advancing equality, eliminating discrimination, harassment and victimisation …”

Women prisoners are victimised by a system that validates the feelings of male sex offenders over their safety.
Legislated discrimination.
State torture
of women who may already have suffered at the hands of abusive males.
How is this fair?
Whose equality is advanced?
Not society at large, who now have to reconcile the extended suffering of incarcerated women with a just punishment for, say, shoplifting.
Not female prisoners, who
have been deemed worthy sacrificial lambs by the courts already.
Not the trans-identifying prisoners, whose every gender demand is now elevated far above any bog-standard prisoner protest. They may seem like the winners, but their reoffending rates likely get a boost by making

The male psychology affected by certain decisions and their attendant consequences: expanded.

Consider a transwoman who passes.

Hair, face, figure, all highly reminiscent of, not just any woman, but the most beautiful, most desirable of women by our society’s standards.
It’s not a woman’s body, but how would you know?
“You don’t see gametes!”we’re repeatedly told.

She looks like a woman, she feels like a woman, she lives as a woman, uses pronouns and everything.

But.

She thinks like a man.

How do we know?

Because she has a man’s physiology;
she has a man’s psychology:
She has the body and brain of a man who has thought of himself as, and has been made to look like, a beautiful woman.

Did her physiology inform her psychology, or her psychology direct her physiology?

If you elevate a collection of stereotypes about what women are and what women do over the universal experiences of female people, you will come up with nonsense like this⬇️about the ways race, gender and class interact.
I’d like to show you why #SexMatters here.

Black women, Brown women, White women, disabled women, any kind of woman, and transwomen.

What is it they all have in common?

1.Humanity, ofc.

2.Human physiology, informing and affecting our human psychology.

3.A broad approximation of appearance - recognisably same species.
4.We are all a part of the sorting and structure of society.

Why am I talking about women?
Because men also exist.

What do women have in common with men?

All of the above.

It’s why, and how, we co-exist.

The truth doesn’t require you to go into battle for it. The truth doesn’t require a war.
The truth just requires - actually, it demands - that when you discover it, when you stumble across it, when you uncover it
you state it.

That’s all. You state it.

You don’t have to shout;
the truth doesn’t need your fanfares or parades; doesn’t need enforcement or initiation.
That’s culture.
That’s not truth.

The truth is simple, supported by reality, and, while it might be painful for you, it will absolutely bear you up.

You might be required to state it more
than once. Say it to authority. Declare it in court.

You might lose all kinds of people or places because of it,
but you don’t have to *fight for it,
because all of nature and reality is doing that for you.

If it’s true, it just *is.

The truth requires that you be brave.

A man killed his mother and her friends, including a three-year old girl, because he couldn’t get a girlfriend.

What’s misogyny?

Some say the mother, and the young women who wouldn’t have sex with him, must share the blame.

What’s misogyny?

The man had his gun license
granted, even tho his social media was full of violent threats against women and there’d been an allegation of assault. (And this in a country where women have had police visits over the content of their tweets.)

@Reddit banned his account the day before the
shooting. That’s the same Reddit that’s banned every GC account. Where you can find any number of subreddits dehumanising and debasing women.

Today on Twitter a man said it was unhelpful to go after Incels.
