Last year, after George Floyd was killed, a punk rocker in Tennessee posted a few professional photos that a photographer had snapped for promotional purposes.
The case came in the middle of the Trump administration’s war on “antifa.” The Trump-appointed top federal prosecutor held an whole press conference on it, and even praised the “outstanding investigative work” of law enforcement in the case. huffpost.com/entry/trump-ba…
Then the federal government actually tried to keep the guy detained for months — potentially more than a year — over a case built around a bag of weed that was found because they raided his home because of a promotional photoshoot for a band. huffpost.com/entry/justin-c…
In July, a 67-year old chief federal judge who was appointed by George W. Bush said the search warrant was trash and that any reasonable officer would’ve known they were “promotional images for a Rock band.” huffpost.com/entry/justin-c…
But the state case remained, even though the Tennessee “hoax device” law they used to charge him for doing a photoshoot with a bottle full of water and apple cider vinegar had a specific exemption for dramatic performances.
Well, as of today, all state charges (including the “hoax device” charge over an apple cider vinegar Molotov mocktail) have been dismissed.
In a sentencing memo filed this week for Jack Griffith, the feds say he showed "virtually no remorse for his conduct" and was "wearing what appears to be a homemade jacket that says 'Trump won MAGA' in puff paint" when he was arrested. They want three months in prison.
"I’m not gonna be too cocky, but I’m pretty sure I’m good lol Just got ordered to have my ankle monitor removed too.”
"The defendant came to D.C. and gleefully stormed the Capitol… he has used the media attention to try and profit from his actions and his Trump video game and to generally promote his online persona.” storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
There’s a lot of important information and serious reporting in here, but it is also my Twitter duty to inform you that Mike Lindell spelled “Capitol” with an “a.”
"Melissa Carone, who achieved viral infamy with her baseless testimony at a Michigan House hearing was listed as an ‘important' guest at the event.” theuprising.info/p/exclusive-le…
"Harlan Hill, who has worked as a spokesperson for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was also on the VIP guest list.” theuprising.info/p/exclusive-le…
The feds released a number of videos in connection with the detention of Jeff Sabol, aka #OrangeNTeal. You can see him charge in from left of frame at the beginning of this video, and then battling with police at :08.
Here’s what that charge looked like from the cops’ perspective:

NEW: Florida man Moises Romero arrested in Jan. 6 attack. Feds say he was part of the mob that brawled with cops.
"During the push, which lasted for approximately 1 minute and 20 seconds, video footage depicted rioters punching law enforcement officers, throwing objects at law enforcement officers, and attempting to hit law enforcement officers with a flagpole.”
"ROMERO was near the front of the line of rioters, participating in the push against law enforcement officers.”
