Here's my latest Rappler piece, co-written with @znsuzara. Build 3x was supposed to bring about a "golden age of infrastructure." But to make up for their lack of progress Duterte and his men took credit for projects started in previous administrations. 😤

Yeah, but now in 2021 inflation has picked up again, mainly because of meat & vegetable prices.

What a depressing graph. Based on IMF forecasts, the Philippines will suffer one of the biggest declines in GDP growth between 2019 to 2025. 😭

Pre-COVID, we were a rising star. But because of Duterte's botched pandemic response, that status has been washed away like dolomite.

Terror bill proponents say hirap daw ang gobyerno kasuhan ang suspected terrorists dahil sa kawalan ng ebidensya.

Pero di ba lumobo na nga ang confidential & intelligence funds ng gobyerno? Yung sa OP lang lumobo na sa P4.5b from ~P500m during Aquino's time (9x as high).
Halos kalahati ng total intelligence funds napunta lang sa Office of the President. At halos 2/3 ng total confidential funds napunta rin sa OP.
OP's 2020 budget = P8,201,318,000
Intelligence & confidential funds = P4,500,000,000

So MORE THAN HALF of the OP's budget ang intelligence, confidential funds. Tapos di kayo makabuo ng kaso vs terrorists at gusto pa ng bagong batas???

Ayon sa pag-aaral ni Dr @toots_albert ng @PIDS_PH, as of 2017, ito yung mga pamilyang kumikita ng P19k hanggang P114k kada buwan (o 2 to 12 times ng poverty line).

26% lower-middle
10% middle-middle (lol)
