Thread on Paolo Zampolli, a close friend of the Trumps who managed Melania's modeling career and claims he introduced her to Donald
Zampolli has links to Trump's real estate business including Trump Soho and an interesting link to Icelandic group that financed Trump & Bayrock
Paolo Zampolli was a partner at modeling agency Metropolitan Models and secured a work visa for Melania Knauss (Trump) in the 1990s cbsnews.com/news/former-mo…
Zampolli says he introduced Melania to Donald and, per this NY Times article, after the modeling business Zampolli entered the real estate business as Trump's director of international development before Zampolli went on to found Paramount Group
Zampolli's Paramount Group, short for The Paramount Realty Group of America Corp, did business with Trump Soho partners Bayrock and The Sapir Organization, here's a sales commission invoice posted by @USseriously
Here are some of the 2015 legal filings in lawsuit by Domus Arbiter Realty Corp - related to the 2013 sale of 14 Trump Soho units for $10.8 million - against Paolo Zampolli, Paramount, Bayrock/Sapir and others HT @usseriously
Here's my chart showing key partners in Trump Soho deal
While I followed Trump Soho closely, I had missed info above about Paolo Zampolli's involvement through his company Paramount Realty Group of America Corp & this week found another interesting item wsiegelman.medium.com/trump-soho-dra…
A 2010 story said Zampolli's Paramount sued an Icelandic couple for installing a cheap IKEA kitchen in his rental
The husband sued, Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson, had run Baugur Group a co-owner of FL Group which financed several Trump deals including Trump Soho nbcnews.com/id/wbna35583786
This 2007 press release described the joint venture agreement between FL Group and Bayrock Group to invest $50 million in US based real estate projects including Trump Soho, Trump Lauderdale and others - and notes that Baugur was 18% owner of FL Group
After 2008 financial crash Baugur's Jon Asgeir Johannesson was charged with criminal offenses & later found guilty of tax evasion
In 2010 he told London judge he only had 1 mil pounds despite recently paying off $10 mil mortgage on Gramercy Park apartment nypost.com/2010/07/27/gra…
This piece by @sigrunda provides an excellent overview of the financial connections between Trump, Bayrock and FL Group - and the role Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson had at Baugur starting in 2002 in creating FL Group
There's nothing showing Paolo Zampolli had business ties to Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson other than renting an apartment and suing Jón & his wife
But it's interesting he was their tenant & Baugur co-owned FL Group which financed Trump Soho & Zampolli later sold units at Trump Soho
I first learned about Paolo Zampolli from @annmarlowe - he is often featured on Fashion TV, which is an international fashion station that is part owned by Russian billionaire Oleg Boyko
Thanks to @braisincapital who initially mentioned Zampolli's company Paramount and the Trump Soho lawsuit to me, which led me to docs posted by @USseriously
The bizarre stories continue per @StacyJannis Paolo Zampolli & Tether founder Brock Pierce - who hired ex Cambridge Analytica exec Brittany Kaiser as his campaign manager for his 2020 presidential run - recently burned a valuable painting to create an NFT
Interesting item in Zampolli thread by @DerWouter - in 2015 around same time Zampolli was being sued for allegedly taking another broker's commission at Trump Soho - he was sued by Douglas Elliman for hiding $4 million in commissions
This 2012 story describes two deals that Paolo Zampolli brokered with Rotem Rosen and Alex Sapir to open Japanese restaurant Zuma and and to open Koi Soho, in the Trump Soho hotel
In 2015 Alex Sapir and Rotem Rosen bought a Madison Ave. townhouse for $18.5M where they planned to build a 10-story luxury condo building with retail and a restaurant
Paramount Realty Group's Paolo Zampolli represented the buyers in the deal
This thread is jumping around a bit, here's more @USseriously just shared with me
