π Energy accounting is an essential part of my wellbeing-driven productivity toolkit.
If you are you are feeling exhausted right now, this thread is for you π
π The idea behind energy accounting is that you work out which activities drain and restore your energy.
π Make a list and assign each activity a number of points (e.g. out of 100) to represent how much they restore (+) or drain (-) your energy.
For example, I find large social gatherings drain my energy, so they might score -50.
However, 20 minutes lying in my hammock reading my Kindle helps restore my energy so that activity could be +50.
I do not focus on the numbers too much - it's more the principle.
The idea is to balance your energy levels βοΈ
I want to be productive - but I can only do that if I have energy.
If I do something that drains my battery, I need to balance that something restorative.
That's why, for me, energy accounting helps me practice wellbeing-driven productivity.
β TLDR:
β’ Make a list of activities that drain and restore your energy.
β’ Allocate each activity a + or - score out of 100.
β’ When you do a - activity, balance it with a + activity.

A year ago, I was 'all in' on Notion, but then we had a massive falling out.
Notion couldn't keep up with me. I needed the app to be fast-paced and responsive - my needs were not met π
So I left (quietly but completely).
As the months passed, I started trying new things - seeing new apps, if you like - and they were fun, at first. But there were certain things I started missing about Notion π
