I find it really interesting how still, even now, women are consistently told that the only thing that is important about us is our child bearing capacity. I mean this is simply true of the younger generation that cannot afford to have kids now anyway, but it is leveled at women.
*Sees a bright eyed fresher at Cambridge* You're going to end up a barren old crone. You know that???
It is this biological essentialism that feminism needs to work against in a number of ways. First we need to decouple the idea of womanhood from reproductive capacity. Second we need to create a world that actually supports parents when they do have children.
We need affordable childcare. We need good parental leave. We need a society which is not currently telling us that we are aiding terrorists if we work from home. What we do not need is to threaten eighteen year olds.
Anyway shout out to every fresher girl who like me would hear this line, shrug, and say "Who care?"
Get your reading done this week kids, and then have fun at the pub. xxx

Really hate this now age of doping in cycling. Making it absolutely impossible to enjoy the sport once again. I wish Pogačar could at least cheat in a believable way. Out here breaking Kayfabe on the regular.
This has been a tweet about the sport of profesional cycling. Thank you.
People who think this is not happening, how? Where to I buy that level of naivete???
You have to read this amazing story of a woman who got so mad that she isn't popular and can't get published that she sues someone for plagiarism. It is just truly sensational.
I YELLED: "Dorland’s lawyer, meanwhile, can point to that 2016 text message of Larson’s, when she says she tried to reword the letter but just couldn’t. (“That letter was just too damn good.”)
“The whole reason they want it in the first place is because it’s special,"
GIRL NO
Honey they mean you are insufferable not that you can write. Please. 😭😭😭
On the day when the facts of the Sarah Everard murder are coming to the fore, while there are cops with Nazi tattoos on the floor of the Labour conference, I have no idea how to express how genuinely disturbing it is to hear Starmer say we need more police to keep women safe.
This argument is at the best willfully ignorant and at the worst intentionally harmful. What are we supposed to do with this? What do we have to do to make people see that there is a problem here?
Just finished dressing up to meet my mate and watch Drag Race UK at the pub and B says to me, upon seeing my look, "It's a bit much isn't it? You're just going to the pub." Honestly.
Sorry but it's short shorts boots the house down and I do not care.
I have watched my fav film Showgirls very literally dozens of times in my life, but I just rewatched it for a @ComradioUk episode and I think it is the first time in my life I have ever seen it totally sober and in the morning. It hits very different. (Unbearably uncomfortable?.)
My other fav film is Amadeus and they are in many ways the same film and I will not be taking any questions on that.
