The key to running multiple businesses at once:

Hiring an Operator

How do you do that? Time for a thread:
Why hire an operator at all?

It's only natural to assume no one can take better care of our assets than us.

Especially when the assets in question are businesses.

That’s why it’s common to see a lot of micro-managing from owners in their first business acquisitions.
But what happens when your portfolio expands to 3 companies?

Or 5, 10, maybe even 20?

Will you still involve yourself in the day-to-day running of each one? Will you even be able to?

Hot tech startup: Valued at $1 billion, loses $100 million per year

My Airbnb property: Purchased for $2.1 million, makes $400k per year
Ok couple tricks:

1) quiet events can be goldmines
2) over the top on decorations and instagrammable moments
3) select rent out to influencers etc for filming and…
4) Podcast setup is legit
5) City with events is crucial
What’s my point with this super annoying braggadocious tweet?

To get your attention that you can do very well in life without having to be a genius.

9 Lessons learned from my immigrant, gun-toting, multi-time CEO father:
Stan Sanchez.

A man who labored at a slaughterhouse, who built things with his hands until they bled and calloused.

Who cut stone, and led teams, who built businesses and eventually sold them.

Who created his own path.

Here are 9 rules my dad lived by:
#1: Not Armed & Dangerous, Armed Because the World Is Dangerous

He was in the Alaskan wilderness, guiding a hunter 100s of miles from civilization.

A noise broke the silence of the night.

It was a massive bear charging him.

Lesson: Civilize your mind, make savage your body.

What if money actually does grow on trees?

See this tree?

It sells for $6,000
Apparently there’s an entire lux market for finding old cool trees, buying them, and then shipping them to mansions and hotels.

Can you buy tree futures??
Rewind a year and Marcus Kirby was a server at a Chicago Native Foods.

Now?

He’s the founder of The Succulent City, a houseplant store that’s raking in $15K a month.
