[5 a.m. update] Severe Tropical Storm #MaringPH slightly intensifies and is now over the West Philippine Sea.
It packs maximum sustained winds of 100 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph. It was last located 170 km west of Calayan, Cagayan
The following storm signals are still in effect:
PAGASA: Today, heavy to torrential rains are highly likely over Batanes, the northern portion of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, CAR, and Ilocos Region. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains are highly likely over Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, and the rest of Cagayan.
PAGASA: Light to moderate with at times heavy rains are likely over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, over the rest of Cagayan Valley.
PAGASA: Scattered to widespread flooding (including flash floods) and rain-induced landslides are highly likely especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazard
PAGASA: After passing close or over the islands in the Babuyan Archipelago, #MaringPH will continue to move west over the Luzon Strait and the West Philippine Sea throughout the forecast period. It is forecast to exit PAR this morning or afternoon
