The entire British media (except @talkradio) appears to think the key question about today's Health/Science committee report on the Govt's handling of the start of the pandemic is:

"Will you apologise for not locking down earlier in March 2020?"

1/
This is the same British media that continues to ignore all the evidence from around the world (not just Sweden, Florida & Texas) that shows that lockdowns don't save lives, they merely delay Covid deaths while also causing many more non-Covid deaths.

2/
This is the same British media that reports on the tragedy of the many thousands of cancer patients left undiagnosed and untreated *because* of the lockdown they demanded.

3/
This is the same British media that reports on the misery of millions of people suffering from mental health problems after being locked in their homes for months on end, or losing their jobs or businesses *because* of the lockdown they demanded.

4/
This is the same British media that reports on the massive growth in inequality among school pupils as the poorest children from the most disadvantaged homes were left without any schooling for months on end *because* of the lockdown they demanded.

5/
This is the same British media that reports on the rise in domestic violence, and the abuse and neglect of children locked in their homes *because* of the lockdown they demanded.

6/
This is the same British media that reports angrily about the enormous economic costs, the massive Government debt and the huge tax rises that will have to follow *because* of the lockdown they demanded.

7/
Yet the same British media never stop to think that if they'd done their job properly & demanded to see a cost-benefit analysis of lockdowns instead of blindly following totalitarian China, we wouldn't be in this mess right now.

Maybe they should be apologising to us too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, we've made it onto the plane to Mallorca. According to the boarding pass given to us by the lady at check-in, I'm going on holiday with 2 kids and a bloke called Adam Wall. Which may come as something of a surprise to my husband. #HisNameIsNotAdamOrWall
Good grief. I've just had to hold up our plane when we spotted TWO of our bags being offloaded because a passenger didn't board - in the name of Adam Wall. The useless check-in lady had checked in TWO of our 4 bags in his name despite being told repeatedly that we weren't him...
Another TWO couples say they'd also been given the wrong boarding cards as well and don't know where their bags are heading. And our third bag has a tag in the name of another man entirely who is sitting near us on the plane but says he didn't check in a bag at all. WTAF?! 😳

A message to all those who think that people wanting an end to lockdown is selfish and don't care about their fellow citizens. Please share this thread... 1/
You can clap for carers, put a blue heart in your Twitter bio & a kid's rainbow drawing in your front window all you like, but if you support an extension to this lockdown, YOU ARE SELFISH. 2/
If you think it's right to be "cautious" and wait "just a few more weeks" just to be "safe" because, hey, you're not that bothered about having 7 people in your home or ordering drinks at a pub bar, YOU ARE SELFISH. 3/

Just like they predicted that sending millions of kids back to school would cause Covid cases and deaths to go up after March 8? Uh huh.
Let's have a look at what actuallt happened after the "experts" predicted that millions of children returning to school on 8 March would lead to a surge in cases and deaths...

This first graph shows cases from 1 March. Where's that big surge in cases? 2/
Yes, that first graph shows a slowing down in the fall in cases but (a) plateaus have also happened in other countries without any obvious explanation and (b) look at the boom in tests at the same time. If you test millions of kids every week, you'll find more positive cases. 3/

What an extraordinary exchange on @skynews this afternoon between the presenter and Fatima Ibrahim of Green New Deal UK.
Do you remember agreeing to radically change how you live your life to tackle the "climate crisis"?
I don't. 1/
Sky presenter: "In terms of what we need to do as individuals... everyday things, how we heat our homes, what food we eat, that all needs to change radically as well." 2/
Fatima Ibrahim of Green New Deal UK replies: "That will radically need to change. The opportunity this pandemic has given us is to think about new ways of living... We won't be able to combat the climate crisis if it's one of just choice."

What’s going on @GavinWilliamson @BorisJohnson? You promised pupils would only wear face masks in classrooms for this term before a review over Easter. So why does new guidance say masks will be reviewed AND that they “will continue to be in place AFTER Easter”. Which is it?
Ok, re masks in classroom... a Govt source tells me that they don’t get the data until next week and will do the review then, adding: "I don’t think the wording had changed on the guidance from last time." We shall see...
And now the Govt website on masks in classrooms has been changed in the past hour tonight to say the measures "will continue to be in place UNTIL Easter." 👀

A helpful message for Remoaners and #FBPE folk:

One of the strangest things about our Brexit battles is the willingness of those on your Remoan side (ie. not the vast majority of Remainers who accepted the 2016 democratic vote) to dismiss the views of Brexiteers because...

1/
You claim we are stupid, poorly educated & ignorant of the facts.
Not a day goes by when you Remoaners don't tweet about how stupid & ill-informed I am.
You're entitled to think whatever they want, of course, but I'm not sure it's the winning argument they seem to think it is.
2/
I happen to have 3 grade A A-levels (from non-selective state schools, before you ask), a 2:1 from Oxford University, but I also know plenty of people who left school at 16 who are brilliantly clever and well-informed. Yet you think every Brexiteer is stupid regardless.
