You do not need to complete a fed criminal investigation before filing charges. The investigation can continue after the filing of the initial charges, & usually does, often resulting in the filing of superseding indictments. Separate prosecutions should be filed as well.
Indicting Trump now would put him under tight Court supervision (US Pretrial Services) w/ appropriate gag orders/control including stopping his daily efforts to destroy our democracy. I don't want to hear from any so-called legal pundits that Garland needs more time to act.
The list of Trump crimes is endless including:
Mueller obstruction
Stormy Daniels Payoff/Campaign finance fraud
Federal Tax Evasion
Blatant election fraud in GA/elsewhere
Corrupt Pardons
So many others
All committed in plain sight with our democracy on the line.
Trump remains the most dangerous, uncharged criminal in our country & it isn't even close.
Shame on Garland, @LisaMonaco @TheJusticeDept @SDNYnews @USAO_DC if charges are not soon filed.

The failure of Trump's DC hotel got me thinking that Trump has never really achieved any success on his own. Trump Tower/Grand Hyatt were done under the auspices of his father. Trump's most valuable assets right now are a minority interest in 2 office buildings in NY/San Fran,
which are actively managed by Steven Roth of Vornado who is in fact a successful businessman. Trump lucked into this investment which he unsuccessfully tried to get out of like an idiot. Everything else Trump has touched has failed miserably. He would be actually destitute
but for several sources of wealth that had nothing to do w/ his business acumen. 1) inheriting/receiving almost half a billion dollars from his parents; 2) falsely portraying himself to be a success on the Apprentice; 3) the aforementioned Vornado/Trump Tower investments.

1 Remember the Get Smart cone of silence. At the very earliest stages of an otherwise high profile investigation of crimes committed by many, I can see it taking place w/ no leaks. However, at some early point, outsiders need to be interviewed, subpoenas/search warrants executed,
2 charges filed against planners, special counsel appt'd (@ejeancarroll case conflict?), etc. Def attys get involved along w/ their staff on behalf of witnesses, targets & subjects, all of whom have family/friends. This is why @RepAdamSchiff @tribelaw, myself, others are worried.
3 We have not heard a peep about any fed investigation of Trump. Compare this to the investigation/prosecution taking place by @ManhattanDA. We don't know everything that is going on but there surely is important progress being made including charges filed against AW/Trump Org.

If Jeffrey Bossert Clark has any street smarts, he would proactively make the best deal he can with @TheJusticeDept. I think he is uniquely situated to cooperate against Trump for crimes that include seditious conspiracy, election fraud, etc. Could spare himself a prison stint.
His life will never be the same but if the reporting is accurate including statements from his former DOJ colleagues, he faces potential & significant criminal exposure. He seems to have lost his way post '20 election but he is well-positioned to trade info for leniency.
Who knows, maybe he even recorded his conversations w/ Trump. At least he can testify to his numerous discussions with Trump after the election. His departure from @NCLAlegal could be related to such a move but that is rank speculation at this point.

I used to look forward to your show every day. It has become unwatchable & a horrible source of false information about what is actually a successful evacuation from Afghanistan. I will no longer tune in & will no longer follow you. cc @CNN
Unfortunately, my once all time favorite @brikeilarcnn has lost all objectivity about Afghanistan coverage perhaps in part due to her husband's military service and should be barred from reporting about the situation.

Here is the communication (condensed) I recently sent to the US Attorney, SDNY, Audrey Strauss, w/ a copy to her Chiefs, requesting that the Office prosecute Trump for the Stormy Daniels payoff scheme & related criminality. Trump is presumed innocent. 1/15
"I am a former Assistant U.S. Attorney w/ the Office & longtime member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel. Before the expiration of the statute of limitations (arguably as soon as this October though it could be later), I respectfully request that the Office prosecute 2/15
Donald Trump for the Stormy Daniels payoff scheme (and related criminality) that materially impacted the 2016 election, which also involved tax evasion and money laundering offenses, and for which Michael Cohen was convicted. 3/15
