The combination of stupid here is impressive
.@MeghanMccain has blocked me again but here’s the dumb post she and @RealDeanCain are on about that divides America more than a Superman slogan
This is the second time Ms Do You Know Who My Father Is Well I’ll Tell You Anyway has blocked me and something something snowflake left
How unimaginably stupid one has to be to think the Superman slogan is taking away your patriotism? If your patriotism can’t survive a minor change to a fictional character your patriotism is pretty damned weak.

A trumpet sounded, signifying the beginning of yet another MAGA hat bonfire.

Everything was dying. The Wokening was nigh.
Henry turned on his TV expecting to see Tucker Carlson, but the signal had been hijacked. Instead the Wokeristas were forcing every household to watch Maddow and Fauci discuss gender reassignment and climate science. All non-woke materials had been banished. Fox was a crater.

For the last two years I’ve been mostly watching movies and tv shows I haven’t seen cause there’s SO MANY things I haven’t seen and it’s piling up. But I feel like I may bust soon and just rewatch Superman 1+2, Back to the Future, Lion King, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park etc
It’s like I’ve been on a pop culture diet and now I’m about to binge ice cream and Doritos
Some of the things I had never seen that lived up to the hype: Gandhi, Goodfellas

What didn’t: Halloween, Amadeus, Chariots of Fire

This “American way” thing is so lame we already had an outrage cycle about it a few years ago when one of the movies came out. Never mind it hasn’t been a thing in the comics for eons.
This is so repetitive and tiresome I’m fucking bored with it (see dates)
Conservatives are regularly surprised that the icon created by two Jewish kids during the depression who has come to be a beacon to every type of person is not, in fact, a hacky right wing stooge.

Virginia has voted for two democratic governors in a row and has voted democrat in every presidential election since 2008 so let’s talk to Trump voters (10 months after Biden beat Trump there by 10)
“We went to Maryland, who has voted Democratic in every presidential election since 1988 and where Joe Biden crushed Trump by 33 and we spoke to… some Trump voters” - soon
I wouldn’t be so harsh about these stories if the press spent a lot of time talking to democrats in places like Utah or South Carolina, or even in states that flipped like Georgia and Arizona, but they don’t. (and they have ignored the flip in New Mexico and Nevada too)

The biggest growth sector in comics the last 20 yrs or so has been manga. Manga’s fan base is more diverse than DC/Marvel has been historically. It’s all about the Benjamins.
Walk past a manga aisle at the book store. It’s all young women who mostly would never walk into a comic shop. DC and Marvel want their money.
DC especially is begging the manga/ya crowd to buy their stuff and it seems to be working
