1) Extremely hardhitting interview on @BBCr4today on @stonewalluk and the #bbc. @StephenNolan says the Corporation needs to facilitate safe debate on the issues, and that when his podcast came out, BBC LGBT staff contacted him to say thanks for having their views represented.
2) There's no unanimity of opinion amongst BBC LGBT staff that Stonewall is the arbiter of these issues says @dt_ni. @StephenNolan asks again that if the BBC has taken 'a range of advice' could they please tell him, other than Stonewall, who they have taken the advice from?
3) That last response from Nolan was in answer to a question from @MishalHusain about the role of specialist groups in giving advice to organisations like the BBC.

NEW: The media regulator @Ofcom has told me that it has left the controversial @stonewalluk Diversity Champions scheme - in part it says, because of the need to remain impartial in regard to some of the most heated debates surrounding Stonewall’s political campaigns.
In a statement @Ofcom said: "As the communications regulator, an important part of our responsibility is to ensure we remain impartial and independent at all times. Our commitment to supporting the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ people is as strong as ever."
I understand that the decision was made because Ofcom's relationship with Stonewall may have led to perceptions of bias, following increased scrutiny of some of Stonewall’s policy positions.
