…from Isḥāq b. ʿAbdiLlāh who said: ‘The mother of the Emissary of Allāh ﷺ said: ‘When I gave birth to him, light came out from my private area that illumined the palaces of the Levant. I gave birth to him pure of any filth, and he was on the ground sitting by his hands.”

…‘Allāh have mercy upon you, your Lord have mercy upon you!’” al Shifāʾ continued: “It is casted for me what lies in the east and the west until I saw some of the palaces of Rūm. Then, I gave milk to him and put him to sleep. I did not realize that I was enveloped by darkness,…

…terror, and shivering to my right. Then, I heard someone said: ‘Where are you going?’ Another replied: ‘To the west.’ And it departed from me, then the terror, darkness, and shivering returned to my left. Then, J heard someone said: ‘Where are you going?’ Another replied:…

…‘To the east.’” She then said: “That conversation was still on my mind until he was appointed by Allāh. I was amongst the first of people to embrace Islām.”

⑩ al Ḥāfidh Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyā ibn ʿĀʾidh narrated in his Mawlid from Ibn ʿAbbās who said that Āminah spoke about…

…the day of his birth and what she saw from wonders. She said: “I was full of wonder when three individuals were visible; I thought that the sun was rising through their faces. One of them had a silver pitcher in their hand, its fragrance was like the fragrance of musk.

In the hand of the other was a basin made out of green emeralds; it has four sides and at the top of each of its sides is a white pearl. And someone said: ‘This is the worldly realm: its east and west, its land and sea. So, take any side that you like, O the Beloved of Allāh!’”

She continued: “I turned to see which of the sides did he take from the basin and he took hold of its middle. I heard someone said: ‘Muḥammad has took (i.e. chosen) the Kaʿbah and the Lord of the Kaʿbah as for Allāh has made it for him a direction of prayer and a blessed place.’

And I saw in the hand of the third, a folded white silk which is greatly enclosed and it unfolded; in it was a seal which bewildered the sight of those who look at it. Then, it was brought and handed to me by the beholder of the basin. It was cleansed with the pitcher…

…seven times, then it was imprinted between his shoulders with a single seal and it was wrapped in the silk, tied up with a thread from fragrant musk. Then, it carried him and placed him between his wings for a moment.”

And the merits of our Prophet and Master…
