Everyone knew what a buffoon Trump was and openly said so. But one by one, like Stepford Wives, key people would suddenly "shift" to support Trump but could no longer look me in the eye. I knew something else was going on. This was not organic -- not legit.2/7
It was chilling. I'd been making my living in politics, campaigns and media for decades and had never seen this before -- ESPECIALLY not in a primary with so many legit candidates. A few months later, CNN was doing the same. Banned me on Trump's orders. Still in the primary.3/7
Many print journalists & political operatives remain silent on the role of Ailes & Jeff Zucker (especially the latter) out of fear of retribution. They don't want to be blacklisted. Print outlets NEED their stuff highlighted by broadcast media in order to get traction.4/7
Print comes before broadcast -- almost always -- yet broadcast (TV) holds all the power. It's why TV can manufacture fake political strategists and print doesn't call them out. Or issue bans, or ignore huge news in order to protect a pal or goose that lays the golden egg. 5/7
Often, when we tweet a big, proven, already-published truth on twitter about a "goose", many of you assume since you've not seen it on TV, it must be a lie, and you demand we post the articles even though we've done so many times. It's not just MAGA that's guilty of this. 6/7
Gullible people who made heroes out of the wrong people on both sides are why we have 700k dead from COVID, why tens of million$ to help Dems in 2020 ended up in grifter pockets, why MAGA thought it was ok to storm our Capitol, and how we end up w/a Kayleigh behind the podium.7/7
