🧵 Biden just nominated abortion extremist Atul Gawande to serve as assistant administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Tomorrow the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will vote on the nomination.

They must reject him. Here's why:

In 1998, Gawande wrote an article defending the (now illegal) abortion method known as partial-birth abortion.

This barbaric method was designed to ensure an accidental birth of a LIVE late-term baby wouldn't happen. See illustrations & thread with details below:

In a partial-birth abortion the child is delivered into the birth canal up to its shoulders and then killed through vacuuming out its brain and crushing its skull.

Partial-Birth Abortion was developed as a response to the “dreaded complication” of a VIABLE child born alive during an abortion

Partial-Birth Abortion, usually performed in 20-26 week range (the fifth and sixth months), was designed to ENSURE the living child was killed

In a partial-birth abortion, the legs are grasped and pulled through the cervix, as in a breech delivery. The body can be delivered this way, but the skull will be too large to deliver through the partially dilated cervix.

The abortionist will then introduce an instrument such as scissors into the base of the skull creating an opening. The brain is suctioned out, and the skull crushed with clamps and extracted.

In his article defending this barbaric procedure, Gawande writes:

"Grossness is not a good objection. Lots of operations are gross–leg amputations, burn surgery, removal of facial tumors, etc. But that does not make them wrong."

"The infant would be kept comfortable... Then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother."

A federal ban on the barbaric partial-birth abortion method was enacted in 2003, and upheld by the Supreme Court in 2007.

But Biden's USAID nominee, Atul Gawande, sees nothing wrong with the procedure, saying "Grossness is not a good objection."
